Most interesting airports I’ve landed at: - Hong Kong (the old “curve”) - Key West (short, lots of water) - Classified location in Egypt (sshhh) - Alice Springs, Australia - Sarajevo (during the Bosnian War) - Greenland at about -30 Fahrenheit - Stryy, Ukraine - Sydney (coming in from the east at daybreak) we dropped to 500 feet and flew over the Opera House and the Sydney Bridge - Point Salinas, Grenada (during war). It had a huge trench in the runway that the Cubans dug out when they knew we were invading. - Goose Bay, Labrador (after a huge snowstorm)

@kenzietuff We have a "Penguin Parade" at Phillip Island which is about 2 hours from Melbourne. A lot of tourists take a coach ride to see it. During Covid, they live streamed it.

Do any of you just have a mutual hate for your in-laws? How do you handle it during the holidays? I hate my mother in law and not in a campy Christmas movie kind of way. She hates me as well. This is a secret hate between us. We both know we hate each other, but for the sake of not upsetting everyone, we have an unspoken agreement to just make snide remarks at each other and feign laughter. I've considered challenging her to a boxing match, and although she's only 50, it might be frowned upon. The problem is that she is a controlling, rotten snob. She has not liked me since the day we met, despite providing tremendously well for her daughter. I don't know why, but every single interaction between us is negative. Everything I do is wrong, and she knows a better way. How do I survive a week like this? I hate her like Ahab hated the whale.

@MCCCANM I'll have to show this to my mum. Only reason she needed one is because walking from the drop off to the far away gate was too much. She didn't care when she boarded but it's assigned seating so wouldn't matter.

It’s known as the “Gate Miracle” or “Jetbridge Jesus”. People that need wheelchairs to board & so get boarding priority are miraculously cured on arrival & can walk up the jetbridge. We know what they’re doing, but can’t really do anything about it.
