CoA grants Nyanja Holdings Ltd leave to appeal to the Supreme Court under article 163(4) (b) (matters of general public importance) to clarify on the issue of illegal exercise of the statutory power of sale, borrower rights, and protection of property titles.

A friend told me that we should not allow the hiked matatu fare. I told him he needs the matatus more than the matatus need him. He is employed and has to be at work by 8:00 AM without fail. If he doesn’t go to work because of the fare, he risks being fired. In short, beggars are not choosers. This is why the lady said matatu users are poor and desperate, they don’t have any other means of transport. You either pay the 150, take an Uber for 900 or organize a mass maandamano that will shake this government and push fuel prices below 200.

The Law Society of Kenya has received and is acting on reports that Nairobi Central OCS, Chief Inspector Dishen Ongoya, was arrested last night following his decision to consider charges and release 64 persons arrested during yesterday’s national stay-away. Our advocates are also attending to numerous other cases involving peaceful protesters currently before the courts. An OCS is constitutionally and legally entitled to exercise discretion in the processing and release of arrested persons, subject to the law and the rights guaranteed under Article 49 of the Constitution. Punitive action arising from the lawful exercise of such discretion risks sending a chilling message to police officers tasked with upholding constitutional safeguards within the criminal justice process.

@PaidInStress It might be. But at that time, unemployed was new, so not getting a job was considered laziness, your parents would see you as lazy when it was a budding problem. Also we had no other options, you guys have watched us doing things online, we had to figure it out on our own.

TBH, us millennials witnessed unemployment in Kenya at its prime. Things were bad. We watched people finishing uni to stay home for years. Our parents would look at us with disappointment and one day they would stop supporting us financially, just like just, and you had to figure things out. It was us millennials who started online hustling in Kenya. It was us millennials who started influencer work in Kenya. Because we had to get creative. Millennials started flying out to UAE countries to figure things out. The sad reality is that even when you stop working because of maandamano, some people are still making money online, some people have their money working for them, some people are even making money off the maandamanos. You will not sit calmly at home when your default is anxiety because of unemployment. So when you see a millennial aggressively pursuing their work it's because we see it as a gift from God and we don't take it for granted.

The next time CLE reviews the KSL ATP, they should strike out Legal Practice Management from the curriculum then merge Trial Advocacy with Professional Ethics.
