Great conversation today with @RepRileyMoore! On behalf of @AFPWV activists across the state, thank you for your dedication to common-sense policies that make life MORE AFFORDABLE for hardworking West Virginia families. Between the Working Families Tax Cut and another state income tax cut, Mountaineers will see nearly $230 MILLION back in their hard-earned paychecks. @AFPGovAffairs

@wvtradr @ChrisRoseWV Also gas plants are ¼ of the price to build and not nearly any of the maintenance that coal plants have

@wvgovernor Morgantown's upgrade sewage plant was $110 million alone, 30 million is peanuts and you're bragging about it...

Governor Patrick Morrisey
Governor Morrisey is delivering a stronger foundation for West Virginia with a $30 million investment in our water and sewer infrastructure. By directing these funds to the Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council through the passage of the budget, we're not just fixing old pipes, we’re paving the way for new jobs, healthier communities, and a brighter future for the next generation.

Driving to Upshur County on this beautiful day for the GOP’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner. Despite some of the challenges we faced during this past legislative session, my Administration achieved many significant victories which will make West Virginia a better place to live, work, and play. We made big gains on the fundamentals and stopped bad policy from moving. Much more work in front of us, but we had a very strong session. Big wins on sweeping tax cuts, energy policy, education, workforce issues, rural health, pay raises for teachers and state workers, reducing the size and bloat of government, reforming civil service rules, putting new resources into road and bridge repairs, attacking dilapidated housing, and so much more.

@four4thefire Speaking just anecdotally, I have lost track of the number of friends and relatives I have whose sons have a two-syllable name ending in ‘n.’ But it has to be 75%. And your list above would support that generalization.

@TJMeadows304 Maybe quit running a public relations program fawning over those legislatures then?

State government can use police powers to ban certain foods with certain ingredients in the name of public health and safety , but not to protect children? Raylee’s Law would have prevented a guardian who has a current, active CPS investigation from removing their child from school (public view). That’s it. And only if the investigation was initiated from a mandatory reporter in compliance with state law and only if the report was initiated before intent to transfer to another institution or manner of education was declared. Last night’s amendments were simply poison pills meant to kill the bill and prevent a vote on the true measure. Disappointing.

@curtisd0316 @MorriseyWV Completely understand. It just doesn't seem to work that way. I've lived in states where legal and not. Not much difference in noticeability, so perhaps the economic gain is the way to go. But still way too many people not operating optimally.

West Virginians will be able to enjoy some more money in their paychecks very soon. Today, the Legislature passed a 5 percent income tax reduction. This is a start but we will accept the win and then begin efforts to lower income taxes even more in the future! All told, my Administration and the Legislature will end up delivering at least $230 million of tax reductions to West Virginians this year!

@TJMeadows304 Your party's perverse infatuation with homeschooling is troubling. I mean kids are dying every year being "homeschooled" and you guys want less oversight?! This has total cult vibes

@LarryPack To accomplish this WV would need to remove county employee teacher salary scales from state law.

@ameliaknisely Protest a law that could save a child's life because it inconveniences you, unreal. I guarantee those in that crowd have some skeletons in their closets.

Great news, West Virginia. Proud to announce the passage of SB59 today, which I co-sponsored to strengthen voter residency rules and ensure only legal residents cast ballots. This protects election integrity for our great state. Promises made, promises kept!

Great news from Gov. @MorriseyWV: “Those Trump tax cuts affect WV about $106M…When you add that $106M to the $125M that they’ve reserved in the budget, we’re talking about $231M of tax relief for West Virginians.”

@TJMeadows304 TJ, the GOP only has to engage in culture wars, 2nd amendment chest beating, and coal "rah rah rah" to retain voters. Why would they deviate from that winning formula? I'd say the illness is a majority of voters that don't demand more.

Small signs that our licensing reciprocity provisions and our plans to grow West Virginia are working: Licensure certifications for the month of February for contractors rose to 129 from 96 last year! HVAC techs up to 65 from 58 last year. Plumber certifications up to 46 from 27 last year. West Virginia is working on the fundamentals and making it easier to do business in the Mountain State!
