Incredible to think that the last time Roy Hodgson managed Bristol City in 1982, Rangers weren't even founded.

@MMcEwanGolf Tremendous story. Brilliant stuff. You must have raised a fair few bob, no transfer window, teams with (pocket) money to burn.

Here's my wee Kenny Dalglish story... My school picked a charity to fundraise for each new and pupils were encouraged to come up with fun ways to raise money. When I was in S5 (that's the penultimate year of high school for those unfamiliar with the Scottish education system), I decided to run a season-long Fantasy Football league. I charged my fellow pupils a fee to take part and then a small amount - think it was 20p a time - to make transfers. We had something like 150-200 teams and it was great fun. A lot of work every weekend, but I loved doing it. Anyway, for the end-of-season prize-giving, I wrote to Sir Kenny, c/o Celtic FC where he was interim manager, inviting him to come to present the prizes to the winners at one of our school assemblies. His daughter was also a pupil at the school so I was hopeful he might help out. He went MUCH further than that. Not only did he come and present the prizes as requested, he brought a bunch of signed goodies for the winners and stayed on for an hour-and-a-half afterwards speaking to all my fellow pupils, signing autographs and posing for photos. One of my strongest memories is being on stage next to him at the assembly and seeing all the pupils' jaws drop as he they walked in to see him sitting there. I then looked over my shoulder behind me where there were always five rows of seats for the teachers to occupy. Oridinarily, they were about 1/3 to 1/2 full. That day, every seat was taken with another row of teachers standing at the back. Their jaws were hanging lower than the pupils'! For a couple of days, I was the most popular kid in the school - all because of King Kenny. I've met him multiple times since through work and he truly is a complete gentleman. Humble, no ego and just a genuinely good guy. Love him.

40 years ago today: Kenny Dalglish is presented with a special commemorative cap as he makes his 100th Scotland appearance against R(u)mania. Unfortunately he doesn’t score in a 3-0 win but not even the greatest coat I’ve ever seen (Beckenbauer) can take the spotlight off him.

@MMcEwanGolf It’s a weird thing, for sure. As is the fact that Inter aren’t really referred to as Inter Milan in Italy. They are mostly Inter, or Internazionale, and AC Milan are mostly just Milan. I wonder if there’s something related to the histories (one more “Italian” than t’other).

Genuine question... Why do commentators pronounce it "Mee-lan" when they're talking about AC Milan but "Mill-ann" when they're talking about Inter Milan? Same place, innit? 🤷🏼‍♂️

What a tournament this man has had. Hasn't missed a minute in this year's campaign, and named in the official 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ Guinness Men's Six Nations Team of the Championship. Congratulations, Finn 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@MMcEwanGolf Will then somehow have a stormer of a World Cup and be sold for significantly more than we signed him for. Please… He clearly performs better when he just needs to win balls and shift it on to someone else. Who our “someone else” is needs to be a recruitment focus as well!

@ruaridh_jackson Totally! Team that wins it have scored well over 200 points across 5 matches, but somehow conceded over 40 the last 2 weeks. Italy finally really making their mark. Pretty much every team having brilliant match at least once and a horror match at least once. Bonkers & brilliant!

Regardless of who you support, that was the best 6 nations by a mile. Upsets galore, high scoring attacking rugby bringing much needed entertainment, drama to the final play to decide the title. Epic and why we love sport 🙌🏻

@glove931 Shipped a crazy amount of points the last 2 matches. Scoring and conceding 40 points 2 weeks on the spin is quite bonkers. Shaky, crazy… fun to watch! 211 points scored in 5 matches. Wow.

It’s such an exciting time to be a Scottish rugby fan. To think we could be on the cusp of a whole new type of Six Nations heartbreak.

All remaining permutations for the 3 countries with a chance of winning this season's @SixNationsRugby. 96 possible combinations of match outcomes: 44 favour @FranceRugby; 37 favour @Scotlandteam; 13 favour @IrishRugby; 2 come down to the winning margin between Ire & Sco.

For disappointing managerial departures, the Saddlers sacking Sadler today (Walsall’s Mat Sadler) ranks alongside Adams leaving Adams Park (Tony Adams at Wycombe), though Wolfsburg dismissing Wolfgang Wolf remains the standard.

@Bobmcphail1872 @adamski152 Agreed. For a guy who’s YouTube highlights contain loads of cutting inside and shooting, he doesn’t seem to want to do much cutting inside and shooting.

Skov Olsen - if he couldn't deliver today vs Scales on a yellow then he isn't ever. Failing a sensational end to the season there is no chance we pay the fee to keep him.

Italy beat England for the first time in their history. Scotland put 50 on the best French team we've ever seen. Rhys Carré is the fastest man alive. The Six Nations is absolutely class.
