First-time @Tesla owner. Day 4. #FSD just crashed my car into a concrete pillar. 🤦‍♂️ I was supervising, but there was zero time to react. We need MUCH clearer warnings about FSD parking limitations before handing over the keys. Really disappointed. @TeslaSupport @elonmusk #Tesla

@joshtjohnston @Tesla @TeslaSupport @elonmusk I parked the car manually to be honest I didn’t trust that parking, but for some reason, I trusted it pulling out of the spot, my mistake clearly

Just wondering did FSD park the car or did you manually park? I think FSD will retain the data if you selected the stall and told it to park there. There is a big issue when people engage and disengage FSD (I had my car refuse to move yesterday because the curb was to close to the front bumper after I manually parked it)

@grantbelden You really think I let me 4 day old car crash on purpose?? LOL! By the time I realized what it was doing it crashed into the pillar and I pressed the break to disengage but it was too late already…

Concrete anything is technically an edge case Shame on you for not intervening

The best FSD needs lidar as ultimate ground truth of solid surfaces. Computer vision is too reliant on training data and errors induced in the optical path (large flat surfaces with no contrast detail) a large white surface that is backlit by a bright light source exceeding the dynamic range of the optical path is prone to errors. Lidar with computer vision will be much more resistant to error, Especially in challenging lighting conditions or novel untrained situations. But what do I know i'm just a dog.

@poutingpisces @Tesla @TeslaSupport @elonmusk Tell me you don't have the latest FSD without telling me you don't have it. 😅 The UI is different now. The thick blue path in front of the car means FSD is active. The blue steering wheel is the old indicator for basic Autosteer.
