@imatrix EE.

A open source modely dohani cim dal rychleji a uz jsou par mesicu za predrazenymi uzavrenymi modely. Takze za rok budou nabizet naprosto spickovou kvalitu za stale mene penez. A co budou OpenAI, Anthropic, Google prodavat dal? Kdo potrebuje jeste chytrejsi modely? Vice mene uz jenom vedecka komunita, spickovy vyzkum, bezne firmy uz nikoli. Prijde obrovsky tlak na cenu pro bezne uzivatele, bezne firmy. To bude cas, kdy bublina zacne praskat a jen ti s nejlevnejsi interferenci tj. Google a open source modely z Čína. Bude to masakr a blíží se to. A jde to rychle, co ten rok po tom? A dalsi rok? "Zaplatit" ta obri a silene draha datacentra bude extremne tezke. Cina ma energie vice mene zdarma a ze je rok/dva technologicky za spickou? Je to jedno, proste pouziji dvakrat vice grafik a cipu. Energii maji zdarma, takze je to jedno. Cina chytne USA kompletne za koule, coz jeste vic zkomplikuje navratnost.

how fucked are the frontier labs if chinese open source models come so close that for the average consumer/business it's not a big difference anymore? is this a real threat? or is this overblown?

In 2023, we spent $3,934,099 on AWS + other hosting. In 2026, our hosting + support bill is down to ~$1m/year due to the cloud exit. Even including all the hardware buying, we will already have saved ~$4m by the end of this year. And going forward, it's ~$3m/yr in savings 🤑

Integrace, provazání (všechno se vším) a snadnost použití /remote-control u Claude code je skvělá. Jedna z "velkých věcích", co mi chyběla a už nechybí code.claude.com/docs/en/remote…

Go to hetzner.com Set up a $2.50/mo VPS Add your SSH key when creating Login, first install Tailscale on VPS and laptop Once it works add the Tailscale subnet (google the address) to Hetzner inbound firewall SSH port, don't add any more inbound ports Now only u can SSH into it, safe Then install OpenClaw on the VPS via SSH Don't connect any of your accounts, make a Telegram bot and add that Then play with it You have to play with it to get it

@dhh @NicolasDorier Every day, when I have to use the most stupid management app ever made (Basecamp), I think about how the US rich charge us while they are so busy that the full text (besides 50 other things) doesn't work at all. I really don't trust you to work more effectively than the EuroPoor

@NicolasDorier Europoors would lose their mind if they knew how much better access to doctors, appointments, and procedures is in the US vs Europe for Americans on Cadillac-style health insurance plans. I'd 100x rather be in the US than DK if something serious was to happen.

Whenever I see programmer salary numbers from Europe, I always have to do a double take. It's hard to fathom that we work in the same industry. With bonuses this year, many of our folks are at $400,000+, and we're not even in any AI-hype sector.

It has been amazing to watch the progress of the Codex team; they are beasts. The product/model is already so good and will get much better; I believe they will create the best and most important product in the space, and enable so much downstream work.

GPT-5.1 is now available in the API. Pricing is the same as GPT-5. We are also releasing gpt-5.1-codex and gpt-5.1-codex-mini in the API, specialized for long-running coding tasks. Prompt caching now lasts up to 24 hours! Updated evals in our blog post.

These are classic lagging preconceptions about SEA Czechia has 21% poverty Thailand has 5% poverty Just because the cost of living is lower doesn't mean everyone is poor, see purchasing power parity, which means things are cheaper (like rent) which takes people out of poverty

@levelsio I don't consider it "abundance" if most of the population lives in poverty... I am deeply critical of Europe, but for me the best compromise is living in Prague, I have abundance (especially of art and ideas) but I don't have to see poverty in every corner

@naveennaidu_m I don't know why, but claude 4.5 does everything very fast and precisely. Codex, for the same task, think tens of minutes,.then create garbage... Any clue what to setup to be closer to claude?

I’ve fully moved off Claude Code to Codex Here’s how my days run now: Morning (Codex web): - Plan the day in Linear - Turn user feedback into small isolated tasks - Kick off 3-4 "papercut" parallel tasks in codex web - Forget them Deep work (Codex CLI): - Focus on the one big task - Hands on coding with the CLI Evening (review): - If it’s Codex web: create PR + auto-review catches issues. Locally test the change and push to prod - If it’s CLI: /review my local changes, test, PR, merge to main Web delegates the small stuff. CLI accelerates the important stuff

@StefanStok Sonnet 4.5 is a better coder in terms of style, and much faster. I use 5 Codex whenever I have a bug that Sonnet 4.5 can't figure out.

As a senior software engineer, I can tell you that we’ve crossed a threshold in the last six months with Gemini 2.5, GPT-5, and more recently, Sonnet 4.5. I don’t really code anymore. I prompt and supervise. I’m still needed, because the AI can drift into strange tangents. But with the right scaffolding and rules in place, Sonnet 4.5 has become an excellent coder. Work that used to take me weeks or months now gets done in hours.
