@JohnOberg @annah27619626 @LifewithPigs One of the most wonderful moments of my life was meeting the remarkable @JohnOberg at a @javitscenter plantbased conference. I miraculously spotted him from a small social media photo & hollered‼️ Friends ever since, I give constant thanks for his presence in our cruel world🌎

By emphasizing that Impossible Burgers contain 16 ingredients versus a single ingredient in beef, this @BusinessInsider story amplifies the meat industry talking point that beef is a “whole food.” As this video explains, that claim is misleading. This framing reinforces the false narrative that beef is healthier and more natural than #plantbased burgers. cc: @srussolillo @zakjason @bradleymdavis @ImpossibleFoods

For four days this site has blown up over the farm bill provision to keep pigs locked up in gestation crates. 50K+ people have posted about it. Yet its sponsors remain silent. @RepAshleyHinson has been posting about the Congressional Art Competition. @CongressmanGT has stopped posting entirely. Why? They know they can't defend this. They claimed it would help small family farms. But small family farmers are posting that they oppose it. They claimed it would help American producers. But the industrial pork industrial is dominated by two foreign-owned corporations: Smithfield and JBS. They claimed only liberals care about animal welfare. But conservatives like @Cernovich and @TomiLahren have been among the strongest voices opposing it. They never even pretended this is what most citizens want. It's lawmaking of the lobbyists, by the lobbyists, for the lobbyists. They were really just hoping you wouldn't notice this buried deep in the farm bill. Now they're hoping you'll forget about it. Prove them wrong.

No! This means more cruelty, incomplete death and MORE injuries to the workers on the kill lines. This is completely insane. We need MORE food safety, less killing and contamination and MORE PLANT BASED cruelty free foods. Please promote the Plant Based Treaty! and stop the killing.

A few minutes. That’s all it takes to stand up for millions of hens still trapped in cages across the UK. Right now, until 9th March, the Government is running a public consultation on cages - and they are legally required to listen to the public. For years, Animal Equality UK and other organisations have exposed the cruel conditions hens endure in factory farms. Crammed into wire cages with less space than an A4 sheet of paper, not able to stretch their wings or engage in natural behaviours. More than seven million birds are still locked behind bars in the UK. The egg industry will lobby to protect itself. We need to be louder. You don’t need to be a policy expert. You just need to know that extreme confinement and suffering is wrong. It takes 10-20 minutes to submit your response. Email campaigns@animalequality.org.uk for more information on how to submit a response.

US supermarket giant Ahold Delhaize (Food Lion, Giant, Stop & Shop) is taking major new steps to eliminate cages from its supply chain. A decade ago, most top US food companies pledged to end gestation crates for pigs and battery cages for hens — extreme confinement systems that 85%+ of Americans oppose. Many followed through. Costco and McDonald's are now almost entirely cage-free and crate-free, which they've achieved without raising prices. But the five biggest US supermarket owners — Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, Ahold Delhaize, and Aldi — all missed their 2025 cage-free deadlines. Ahold was amongst the worst. It insisted it would now go cage-free by 2032 but refused to share any plans or progress. (We now know it was at just 25% cage-free.) Advocates spent the past year educating Ahold’s customers about the reality behind the eggs it sells under labels like “farm fresh” (none disclose that they're from caged animals). Today Ahold reversed course. It published clear milestones to reach 100% cage-free eggs — and reported significant progress on eliminating gestation crates. Of course, these changes should have happened years ago. It shouldn't have required a campaign for Ahold to fulfill its own animal welfare policies. But this is real progress. It will spare millions of hens and pigs from a lifetime in immobilizing cages and crates. Huge credit to the advocates who held Ahold accountable and made this happen. Now it's time for Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons, and Aldi to follow suit.

So the Trump admin have bowed to the factory farming lobby and put a nightmare piece of language into the new Farm Bill, that will DECIMATE farm animal welfare laws, and states’ rights. We have to stop this. It’s the most anti-MAHA thing ever 👇 Cc @RobertKennedyJr

It is a black mark on our society that, behind closed doors, we engage in the relentless torture of dogs. Dogs! My wife takes the stand today to expose this abuse—and defend her efforts to save the dogs from being bled out and killed. And there's so much a stake, not just for her, but for the world.
