Judge governments not by the words they use, the promises they make; but by the consequences of their actions

Today I had the challenge of standing up to put a salad on a plate without dropping into a chair. I managed to get the feta cheese on the plate and the salad 🥗 landed all over the side before I slumped. Progress can be messy but I got the cheese on there so that's a bonus :-)

Local elections on Thursday will decide who runs services in your area & how much you pay for them. @Conservatives have a proven record of managing money well, delivering high quality local services & supporting local jobs. On 5 May, vote for your local Conservative councillors

It's now abundantly clear that @AngelaRayner cast *herself* as a crotch flashing Sharon Stone. Making a fool of all the many women - myself included- who rushed to her defence. Day by day, Westminster looks more of a swirling cesspit.

I’m really worried that this takeover will stop Twitter being the calm, reasoned, sensible forum it currently is and it will instead be populated by complete morons with little intelligence and no grasp on reality……..

The tawdry tale about @AngelaRayner crossing/uncrossing her legs to distract @BorisJohnson during PMQs is utterly demeaning of a super impressive politician. Her humble beginnings, derided by snobs, are exactly what equip her for high office. This crap does our politics no favours

I used to deliver the paper to the Jewish family who owned this shop. They had a massive house on Barnes View. I refused to use ‘Tradesmen’s Door’ and rang bell at front door to get my Xmas tip. The lady was impressed by my pluck and bunged me a fiver. A fortune in 1969.

Another friend with a suspicious lump sees GP, is told urgent ultrasound/MRI/other tests needed but NHS will take "weeks." Can afford it so goes private. And this is what is happening all over the UK. Those who can afford it are bailing out of the NHS. Two tier system a reality

Men of Twitter: I'm researching a piece based on the stats that men are very reluctant to go to the doctor if they're ill, and only tend to go if their partner MAKES them. Why is that? What's going on there?

Tory MPs could only squirm as @Keir_Starmer delivered that devastating assessment of @BorisJohnson conduct. Whether the PM’s admirable leadership on Ukraine will be enough to negate his reprehensible attitude to his own rules will be for voters to decide.

73 years ago today the founding members of @NATO came together, united by a shared belief in liberty and sovereignty. That conviction endures today. The people of Ukraine are fighting for that same freedom. We will continue to work with our allies to ensure Putin fails.
