A dedicated public servant with legal authorization to remain in the country, Rafael showed up for a routine immigration appointment and, despite following the rules, he was detained and has now been held for months. @KenGardner11 No one has to bring a Birth Certificate or Passport to vote. They do need to prove they were born here when they REGISTER to vote.

I can't be made to care too deeply about the SAVE Act, but requiring people to bring a birth certificate or passport to the voting booth seems unreasonable and even draconian to me. Our current system will work fine if you add a simple Photo ID requirement.

Look pal,every one does not have a birth certificate. And apparently not everyone can easily get one. What happens if the rural hospital where you were born is bankrupt and closed becuase the GOP cut Medicaid. The data are very clear. About 30, 000 nice, clean presumably white and fully eligible voters were denied the right to vote in Kansas after Kansas adopted a version of the SAVE Act.

This is not a lie. Your bill does not accept a drivers license as ID to vote. You need a passport or a birth certificate. Your bill also eliminates voting by mail. When Kansas adopted a bill like your they kicked out 28,000 happy, shiny clean folks from Kansas who were otherwise eligible to vote.

Personally, I would think the Vikings, Panthers and Bengals are better than shown here. I don't see the Lions as top 5-ish anymore, but could be wrong. On a play-by-play basis they were still very good last year tbh. Easy schedule could help.

I haven't been following the SAVE Act (voter-ID law) debates. If (like me) you'd like to read the Act's text, I (unlike Sen. Lee) will link it below. For convenience, these are the forms of ID that would be required to vote. Note, a standard drivers' license is not enough.

@pjaicomo This repeatedly asks for proof of birth in the US. Without a passport, all naturalized citizens would be disenfranchised (which is, of course, exactly what they’re trying to do).

Look, it’s pretty simple. There’s a huge budget shortfall caused by the Adams admin. There are looming federal cuts to the city. You can either raise taxes on the rich or you can cut vital city services that impact New Yorkers tangibly on a daily basis. Mamdani wants to tax the rich. The state legislature wants to tax the rich. The voters (54-29 statewide, per Siena) want to tax the rich. The only person standing in the way of taxing the rich is Gov. Hochul. The only one who would be responsible for cuts to things like trash collection, public safety, housing, education, public health services, parks, libraries, and god knows what else is Gov. Kathy Hochul. Sometimes the right thing to do and the politically smart thing to do are one and the same. This is one of those times. Just tax the rich.
