My beautiful baby girl, look how far you’ve come. So many milestones in such a short time. They warned us it would be two steps forward and one step back, but look at you now shining brighter than ever. Your sweet face is full of color again, and that sparkle in your eyes says it all. It’s been 24 hours since your EVD was removed and 72 hours since they clamped it. We’re trending in the right direction after your cranioplasty. The incisions are healing beautifully. Even the neurosurgeons commented this morning on how wonderful you look and how impressed they are with your progress. At this rate, we should be heading back to the rehab facility this afternoon. And starting tomorrow, my Maya Bear can finally have her showers again ❤️ I believe in you with all my heart. Your strength is unmatched, and you continue to amaze me every single day. You’re already doing incredible things, and I know even greater ones are ahead. I love you so much, my beautiful girl. Forever proud of you, ❤️

WHY DON’T OUR MOTHERS HELP US UNDERSTAND PERIMENOPAUSE. WHY DID I HAVE TO DO THIS BY MYSELF? They never told us shit. Nothing. Nothing about the actual role of estrogen in like, every single neurological function. Not the anxiety, or itching or PVC’s and palpitations. Not the histamine reactions, or the pelvic floor issues, or the sore joints occasionally. They didn’t say a word about mood swings or how important progesterone is or what it does or what happens during luteal. THAT ENDS NOW. MY DAUGHTER WILL BE PREPARED, DAMMIT. Ladies, if you have a question I have become an effing encyclopedia of women’s health over the past 3-4 months. Holy shit what a disservice. Hot flashes? Ha! I’d trade 90% of this shit for hot flashes.

Living a slow life has calmed my nervous system. I don’t panic over every little thing anymore. I don’t feel guilty for resting. I don’t treat every moment like it needs to be productive. Some mornings I just make coffee and sit in silence. Looking at the sky. The birds. Breathing in the morning calm. Some evenings I stare out the window and watch the sky turn orange. Sometimes I read 20 pages. Sometimes I read none. I don’t feel the need to optimize every second of my existence anymore. That constant pressure to “do more,” “be more,” has disappeared. And in its place came what I actually needed: calm. I’ve realized life becomes meaningful the moment you stop rushing through it. Meaning was never hidden. It's was always there in the little things that made you feel peaceful and fully alive.

I remember the balls at Beylerbeyi Palace, where the dances were held in a huge empty pool in the center of the palace. At one of the balls, I recall seeing Atatürk at the center of the pool, dancing with a number of young women – each waiting in great excitement for her turn. He was a very joyful person.

@VinnieSull1van Protests are a waste of time, and Unite the Kingdom ones do not serve the British people at all.

Once again, I've had a million invites to go into central London on Saturday. But, I think I'll probably dissappear into the farmers' fields and woods and let the world tick without me.

I understand that this is a harrowing question that no one should have to answer. I asked this a few years ago, but I'd be interested to see what the results are today. Personally, I'd keep the full English as it's something one eats far more than a roast. But, I can only speak for myself.

What is great about this is that he steps in before it ever gets awkward. And gives her the spotlight

I've been invited to church. Anyone who knows me knows why I have an issue with this. But, seeing as I've been invited and I'm in dire need of meditative moments, I shall take them up on the offer and have a few words with the big man in person. I've actually been visiting a few alone recently for my own reasons. But, this will be the first service I'll have attended for a very long time, other than being the best man at my friends wedding or Godfathering his children. I'd say wish me luck, but I know that no such thing exists. 🤝

An Arab tells you “you must come to my house for dinner.” You get excited. You wait for the invitation. It never comes. You think they were being fake. They weren’t. And not understanding this is one of the biggest mistakes expats make in the Arab world.
