👏 FILTERS 👏 DON'T 👏 WORK 👏 Someone found yet another a way to store JPGs for half the cost of OP_RETURN. You've been lied to. At this point only the insane and utterly incompetent still believe in BIP 110. Don't be a lemming. It's not too late to wake the f up to reality.
Steve@steverabinow

BIP110 taketh away OP_IF, but giveth OP_PLENTY. Introducing a novel way to encode arbitrary data in *contiguous* bytes. Up to 2MB fully BIP110 compliant. OP_PLENTY encodes each 4 bit nibble of the raw data into a tapscript opcode. Decoding is trivial: take the opcode mod 22.

@w_s_bitcoin @secsovereign @worshipbitcoin Even "open permissionless" systems function within a defined use-case. They are not for anyone to do anything. This is just a rehashed "what even is spam" argument. It ain't rocket science!

@secsovereign @worshipbitcoin It’s stored that shit since the very beginning. You just weren’t aware of it until recently because ordinals kicked it into high gear. Welcome to an open permissionless system. Nobody’s forcing you to stick around if it really upsets you.

It was really clever to make this a situation where the burden of proof is on BIP110. When in reality the burden of proof should have been on Core as to why they changed Bitcoin with Core v30, and why they are not changing it back? The was done by suppressing the discussion around Core v30 when it was happening, and then after the fact point to BIP110 as the changing agent. (also this was possible because of the asymmetry in power with the default implementation, really an accident [or abuse] waiting to happen)

Statist suitcoiner (who thinks that Bitcoin needs his pref stock in order to become money) telling sovereign node runners what to do, while showing staggering ignorance of previous UASF dynamics like BIP-148 and the role they played in activating Segwit. Incredibly embarrassing for the Bitcoin movement that this bad actor still has a platform

I love that these guys keep filming and posting video evidence of just how little they understand Bitcoin on a technical level; evidence that could easily resurface and come back to haunt them in the future. Also, notice how they're all doing it; it's very obvious they are in a group chat, desperately trying to think of things to do.

@BitPaine Dude, everyone knows this! His old videos are still on YT FFS. Do you really think he's ever tried to hide it? Guy is not a nym, he's open about his trading background, worked at Peter Thiel's Clarion hedge fund. Do better, trolls.

Agree with @saylor on BIP-110 and as I said in my post below: "What we don’t need is moving those decisions into new consensus rules that invalidate previously valid, fee paying transactions and force every node to enforce someone else’s definition of acceptable use..." This is about a fringe group attempting to force their ideology through code in the most adversarial way possible. Pushing a rule change with the stance of "If you disagree, I don't care" is not in keeping with a free-market network.
Adrian Morris tweet media
Adrian Morris@_Adrian

Appreciate you following the interviews. My position (and I guess also @Saylor) isn’t that we “need” bigger data limits or that lower ones don’t work. $BTC has always worked fine with whatever capacity the market and voluntary node policies allow, fees price out abuse, and node operators choose their own relay rules. What we don’t need is moving those decisions into new consensus rules that invalidate previously valid, fee paying transactions and force every node to enforce someone else’s definition of acceptable use. Right now I run my nodes as I wish, BIP-110 will change that. I am focused on the censorship & sovereignty problem as much as the technical implications. Furthermore, BIP-110 doesn’t solve spam better than the existing system. IMO this just creates a precedent that’s riskier than the data itself, posted about this at length as well. The network will sort itself through consensus & with economic incentives, not attempts to force “soft forks”. As I have been saying, “Bitcoin is a technology, not an ideology”.

The core group of BIP110 backers spent a year saying anyone who doesn't support them is in favor of CP and other disgusting things. I'm not interested in being friendly with anyone who chose to align themselves with these scumbags.
