Got to love the @scotathletics National Cross Country Champs where athletes from track, road & the mountains battle it out over tough undulating grassy and muddy courses. Some great racing in Falkirk today, with the Senior Women's event in particular a highlight. #LindsaysXC

Here's today's #mysteryphoto (no. 382). It was taken apprximately 100 years ago by M.E.M Donaldson so it is very likely a west coast scene but could be anywhere from the coast of Mid Argyll up to Arisag/Morar. If you recognise it, please get in touch I'll update both this and no. 381 on Monday

Can’t believe I spelt ‘grisly’ wrong. The shame of it.

On an unassuming Edinburgh street there are what appear to be two manhole covers. They are in fact the base of two gallows where the last highwaymen to be hanged in Scotland met their grizzly end in 1815. They were hanged on the exact spot where they committed their crime.

Well done to @Linlithgow_Acad S1 pupil Rose Martin who won the Year 7 British Schools Orienteering Championships at Hopetoun House, and to S5 pupil Hanna Brindley who won bronze in the Year 12 competition.
