Today I'm open sourcing how to safely handle links in an iOS app! This is something that I've always felt should be in every app. I want users to be able to have the option of how to handle links. GitHub Gist Link will be commented down below 👇

I'll send an Apple Studio Display + $250 for guessing the exact number of layers used here. Be the closest without going over & win $250. Must be following. Multiple guesses not allowed. Detailed mocks in comments.

@jameesy @obsdmd I’ve been thinking about doing the same. Did you write a script for this?

Experimenting recently with temporary daily notes in @obsdmd - so daily notes are archived each month. One benefit is it forces you to extract important content from daily notes, rather than letting it stagnate in there, never to be seen again. I like it for that reason.

@asallen Hard to switch between work/life contexts. For example, I would like to easily see what life events I have in the next couple of months without having to sift through lots of work stuff or struggle to find how to temporarily disable work calendars.

I agree with Kepano's comments. It is better for now that AI is not built into #Obsidian. First because of privacy reasons. If users want AI, there are lots of solutions. I use my AI for Templater plugin all the time, but I can granularly control what is happening in the vault. Second, I believe in time all Operating Systems will include AI functionality natively, that will make what a lot of plugins do redundant. The only complaint I have right now about AI in Obsidian is there are a lot of plugins, a lot of overlap and some plugins that are not really useful for AI any more (not supported, not updated). So it can be a bit confusing to a new user. #TfT
kepano@kepano

Obsidian is local, offline, and privacy-first, so we won't consider adding AI features until they can fit with the principles in our Manifesto. In the meantime, there are dozens of awesome @obsdmd plugins that allow you to work with LLMs. x.com/kepano/status/…

People often ask: “How should I perform async work from a synchronous context?”, like in a SwiftUI button closure. In such cases, it seems you have no choice but to spin up an unstructured “Task{…}”, but where should it go? 🤔 Watch for the answer:

@historyinmemes Yes, also it is intentional for the two knocks to equate to two syllables “net-flix”. See also: the “intel inside” jingle.

Enjoying investigating the @obsdmd community project winners of the year. The winning theme was this one, called 'Border'. Not a theme I had tried before. Super customisable and clean.
