@trentjhughes In a literal sense, yes you’re correct. But I think when most people refer to “middle aged” they are referring to adulthood & career. If most people actually find a career by 25, they will like work appx 40-45 years. In that sense…middle aged is appx 45-48. Just a thought 🤷‍♂️

Seniors should not be priced out of a house they already paid for because the area around them got more expensive. They didn’t suddenly get richer because Zillow says the house is worth more. Most of them are living on fixed income, paying higher insurance, higher utilities, higher groceries, and then the tax bill shows up like they somehow got a raise. People can argue all day about how to fund schools and services, and that part does matter. But making older homeowners keep rebuying the same house every year through property taxes is exactly why so many people feel like ownership is never really ownership.

But an offer means nothing until the athlete signs the Letter of Intent. College coaches can always pull their offer, which I have seen done countless times over my 24 years doing recruiting for high schoolers. The NCAA doesn't even recognize verbal commitments as admitted by NCAA Legal.

Pet peeve after offering a kid a scholarship… Comment from Current Adult in their Life: “Congrats! First of many! Can’t wait to see the many more offers to come!” Me: “How about I withdraw my offer & leave y’all to go collect 100 more offers to feel validated? 🤣” Moral of the story — You need the ONE right offer to have a successful college career, not 100 offers to get likes online. Don’t push kids to collect a million offers just to have them. You want the RIGHT offer to go have a successful, fulfilling career!

I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk 😭 They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesn’t even remotely match the original floor. So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in better… And this man literally laughed and said: “It’s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad it’s not dirt.” 💀 BE GLAD IT’S NOT DIRT?? I’m sorry, but if I’m paying thousands of dollars for a “professional” repair, I feel like the end result shouldn’t look like a random parking lot patch job. Now I’m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance — and possibly the resale value — of my garage. Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?
