SCOOP: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told travel executives that he’s serious about curbing international flights to U.S. airports in cities with “sanctuary” policies, which could force airlines to re-route and inflict economic pain, @NickMiroff reports. theatlantic.com/politics/2026/…

@TheMaineWonk Appalling how liberals love to spend other people money. What he means is people that are able to get off their lazy asses and feed themselves are now required to do so. Instead of drooling over what others have, go earn it yourself!

Another great example of boomer historical revisionism. Nobody "paid $400k into social security." The hard maximum an individual could pay, assuming they paid the maximum every year from 1937 on, is about $275k.
GrumpyGrampa@HowardW49692190

@NEETzscheIDDQD I paid over $400k into social security and I'm not dying until I get back every fucking penny, just to piss off the pink haired whiners...🤣🖕

Yes, in some sense it is. Obviously, they could allocate money from other things, like R&D, Marketing, etc. but if a huge amount of extra money appeared in their payroll budget and they NEEDED to retain their best employees with higher pay, or they NEEDED more workers to fill orders, that's exactly what they'd do.

@GregOwen70 @SensibleSchizo @NEETzscheIDDQD Bro do you seriously think the payroll budget is some immutable thing that was determined without regard to staffing needs? Some a priori value that dictates how many workers the company can have?

@SensibleSchizo @NEETzscheIDDQD Most likely they would. Businesses tend to have a certain budget for payroll, so they would either pay more, or they would hire more people depending on the specific needs of the business and the competitiveness of the job market.

@KnicksMuse Beating teams in the East for 9 games doesn't mean shit when the possibilities for Finals opponents are OKC and San Antonio 😂

The Knicks are on the most dominant 9-game streak the history of the NBA. Please tell me more about how they would stand no chance in a Finals series… 2 MORE WINS FIRST.
Doug Clawson@doug_clawson

The Knicks have outscored teams by 212 points during their 9-game win streak, the best pts diff in any 9-game span *regular season or playoffs* by any team in NBA HISTORY! Previous "record" was +209 by 1973-74 Bucks in the regular season w/ Kareem & Oscar

@pigybank @TMZ @FCC @KarenBassLA You seem to be operating under the erroneous assumption that "the Epstein investigation" ended with his death. That is a term to describe the ongoing investigation of his crimes and co-conspirators etc -- which was ongoing during the Biden administration.

@ryan_san @ClaireMPLS I honestly don’t care about his perceived negatives or where he lives. I think his policy ideas are sensible, he’s not a career politician, and he’s sane. Yes, i think he cares about the average Angeleno. You didn’t answer my question about Bass, though.

@OpposingViews @ClaireMPLS And speaking of agendas, it's hard to believe Pratt's is "helping Los Angeles" when he doesn't live in LA, he's stated that if he doesn't win he's leaving, and his campaign isn't even headquartered in LA county. Honest question: do you think he cares about the average Angeleno?

@ryan_san @ClaireMPLS i do have an honest question for you: do you think Bass is competent? I’ll at least admit that Raman is quite intelligent and i’m sure competent. It’s her agenda I’m afraid of.

@OpposingViews @ClaireMPLS Do I think the woman who's held state and federal offices for 20+ years is competent? Surely moreso than the washed up reality TV character who blew a fortune on crystals and who has demonstrated zero qualities of leadership whatsoever. What scares you about Raman's "agenda"?

I want the Epstein files completely released, and millions of them have been, far more than the ZERO released under the Biden administration. But Massie began actively working against Trump on a plethora of issues because he wasn't getting what he wanted... oh and yeah, he hates Jews, so there's that. The Epstein files are important, but they sure as fuck aren't the most pertinent issue affecting Americans in their every day lives right now. Get bent.

Normies think citations make or break a paper because normies have never created new knowledge. To a normie, a science paper is a pure interpolation of existing knowledge (that's what they did in college). Making up citations breaks the interpolation and makes the paper wrong

@LtGenScott @BBGreatMoments Garbage take 🤡 In two of the seasons you're citing (ages 39 and 40) his ERA+ was still above 1.00 -- he was above league average in preventing runs. He also won two Gold Gloves past the age of 40.

He can talk about how easy it is to get hitters out, but the last 6 years of his career, his ERA was comfortably over 4.00. Over his entire career, batters hit .250 against him (1 for 4), compared to the MLB average of .264. So, not exactly dominating there. What I'll give him is he had an insanely good run from 1989 through 2002. Fourteen of his 23 seasons. If anyone deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, certainly he does. All I'm bringing up is he's talking tough post career about how great he was, how it was easy getting batters out once you really learned how to pitch. Well, why was his ERA 3.16 instead of 1.16? The best thing is for him to let others talk about how great he was, not for him to do it himself. It's really hard for anyone to come across well when tooting their own horn.
