No matter what happens, the best statewide ballot item in California in November is the 5% wealth tax on 200 billionaires worth $2 trillion.
If passed Sergey Brin would owe $15 billion more in taxes and would have $285 billion left to feed his family.

If 1,000 billionaires don’t end their addiction to greed soon, one day they’ll wish they would have embraced a measly 5% tax on their $8.4 trillion in wealth as a reasonable compromise to make life livable for the bottom 90% instead of fighting it like it was some kind of plague.

Xavier Becerra has said he would if elected.
Today, all but one of the candidates running for California Insurance Commissioner said no, it's not legal.

The merger would have killed the affordability that people liked about Spirit airlines.
Trump is to be blamed for this. He let it happen. If a Democrat was in office they would have found a way to salvage it.
