Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. A bidding process is expected to generate offers in the $7-10 billion range for each team.

During one of the worst losing streaks of my career, our team president walked into my office. Keli McGregor. One of the best men I've ever known. He could have come to vent. To question my decisions. To ask hard questions. Instead, he said: "Cut to the chase, Clint. What's next?" I looked him in the eye and gave him two words: "Shower well." The Colorado Rockies were struggling badly that year. Pregame preparation was solid. Scout meetings, early work, attention to detail. All of it was there. But at game time, the tires were flat. I told Keli: the game did everything it could to us today. We just couldn't meet its demands. Now it was time to reset. "Shower well" means exactly this: • Watch the frustration circle down the drain • Shampoo, rinse, repeat and get the grime of today completely off your mind • Walk out clean, go home, and actually rest Leave it at the ballpark. The game is over. There's nothing left to solve tonight. Keli nodded. Asked if he could share it with the whole organization. I said sure. And then it hit me. This isn't just for baseball. Bad day at the office. Grumpy boss. Missed deadline. Traffic on the way home. You can carry all of that through your front door. Or you can shower well. I've never seen a single problem get better because someone dragged it home with them. The reset is a discipline. Same as preparation. Same as showing up. Either we win. Or we learn. The only real loss? When you don't take a single thing out of a hard day. So tonight, whatever kind of day it was, shower well. Tomorrow is a new at-bat. What does your reset look like? @BlakeChadwick04 As a father, one of the hardest things you do is hand your kids off to a coach and trust that they're in good hands. I hit a home run with your dad years ago, and then again when you took over. Looking back, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else coaching my boys.

Arizona State is hiring Saint Mary’s head coach Randy Bennett, source told @thefieldof68. Bennett, 63, is from the Phoenix area and has long been intrigued by the job. Bennett took over in Moraga in 2001, and has built the program into one of the best on the west coast. Bennett has gone to the NCAA tourney 12 times, including each of the past five years, and has won at least a share of the WCC regular-season title each of the past four years. Arizona State parted ways with Bobby Hurley earlier this month after 11 seasons at the helm.

We've turned college basketball coaches into general managers as if it's not a completely different skillset and responsibility. It's incomprehensible that any top-tier program is trying to do this without a real GM. In this climate, it's a 24/7 gig that most coaches can't do.

@Win_Where Bill is largely responsible for the schedule. He is uncompromising with his expectations. That worked when he could develop players over 2-3 years. That same stubbornness doesn’t work with a new roster every year.

@NotTheExperts Sure, the ball moved better when DP was out, but that wasn't DP's fault. The offensive design has been stale for a few years. There's just no movement of players or the ball. It's too much 1-on-1 with very few players who have the skill to play that way.

Take this however you want: At no time this season has the ball moved and the offense looked better than when Darryn was out earlier in the season. This is not a statement of blame. Just one of truth. #kubball

@kucr8ton The schedule clearly has impaired KU's ability to develop players over the past few years. There have been very few opportunities for young players to play through mistakes, which Self has always struggled with in the first place.

My biggest takeway from this year is that we need to lighten up our non-con schedule quite a bit. It really does us no good to play such a tough non-con schedule when the Big XII is as good as it is. The benefits no longer outweigh the negatives of a tough non-con. #KUbball
