This week, Frum Instagram hit rock bottom. I was trying to ignore it, but how can I stay silent in the face of such a blatant Chillul Hashem. Flatbush Girl has encouraged Frum/Orthodox Jewish women to post revealing parts of their body ("showing erva") as a form of protest or pressure tactic to help a woman who's husband is refusing to give her a get (Jewish divorce). Let's recall her previous controversy: the mikvah strike—urging frum wives to withhold sex on Mikvah night until the community pressures the get refuser. Rabbi Hershel Schachter at the time, called it "terribly destructive" and morally wrong. What would he say about this?! This is utterly grotesque, morally bankrupt, and spiritually catastrophic. Marital intimacy is holy. Tznius is not some optional costume to be discarded when it suits the latest Instagram crusade. Anyone who promotes such filth under the banner of agunah advocacy is not a heroine — she is a stumbling block before the blind on a communal scale. It should go without saying that this is not activism — it is a disgrace to the Torah and a profound betrayal of everything we stand for.

@FrumTikTok I'm not sure why you're surprised. Sm has given retarded women a platform to air their retarded views, with no justification for those views aside from their feelings. And if they're cute, they get 50k other retarded women to believe them.

@kinsellawarren @RBC I don't think they offer you a good rate. You find the best rate you are eligible to get and then get them to come close to that.

Up for a mortgage renewal. @RBC is not offering me an impressive rate. Anyone know what others are offering for three, four and five year extensions?

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast I don't eat kitnyiot because I'm a miserable Litvak. I dream of going to the Arctic circle, growing canola hydroponically and getting Passover certification for Ashkenazim. It would cost $200 a bottle but would not be grown anywhere near corn. Quinoa is not kitnyiot.

@ryestar @purimenthusiast So do you eat kitnyios? Genuinely asking if its ok to pick and choose which "minhagim" we want to keep based on our own preferences then the entire foundation of our mesorah is at risk and then at the end of the day we are no longer Jewish we are just "Jew-ish"

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast I've heard all of these, and their refutations as well. I appreciate your time in putting this out here, I disagree with the conclusions you've drawn, but I respect that where you hold is accepted in relevant schisms of our faith.

@ryestar @purimenthusiast This is not how halacha works regarding d'oraysa's which covering your hair and tznius in general is i think that modern rabbanim are to nervous to tell their constituents that they are wrong that we have diluted and blurred the line between halachic fact and chumrahs

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast Halacha is flexible. If your Rabbi thinks that you will cover 3 tefachs from the shoulder blade, but if told to cover to the elbow, will choose a tank top, then 3 tefachs becomes tzniut for that person.

@ryestar @purimenthusiast Not at all but i was merely bringing in them as an example to why it is totally fine in a halachic discussion to tell someone that they are wrong and i will klap al chaits if l,havdil anyone thinks im comparing myself to them

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast I appreciate you making it this far in the conversation. If the community standard where you live is that women cover their hair, it is laudable to do so. This is something that has evolved over time to become more stringent. Like kitnyiot.

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast I've heard a Rabbi tell two Rabbis who came over 4000 amot on Shabbat to argue about the status of an eruv that it was kosher (when it was not) in order that they could return to their families. Have you learned the Gemara Beitzah? Plenty of disagreement about pestle and mortar

@ryestar @purimenthusiast "politeness and consideration are defacto non negotiable for a conversation" directly from you now I don't know what you have heard about halachic discussions but I have literally heard poskim tell people that they are wrong it's totally ok in halachic discussions but im still 👇

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast I'm not asking you to be polite to me. I'm asking you to understand that starting a rebuttal with, "you are wrong" has no basis in halachic discussion. "I hold like...." "The majority opinion is..." "Have you considered...." Hence your disqualification.

@ryestar @purimenthusiast Im not going to be polite to someone who immediately says that because he doesn't like my tone my arguments are now invalid that is the highest form of a logical fallacy if you want to restart the conversation and tell me why other than my tone you disagree with me then fine

@EYC613 @purimenthusiast How about you contend with my argument that politeness and consideration are defacto non negotiable for a conversation. You remain disqualified in the court of reasonable public opinion. Objection overruled.

@ryestar @purimenthusiast That means absolutely nothing "you are disqualified from the conversation" how about you contend with my argument and in actuality a statement of fact for those that actually know Halacha instead of arguing with my tone

@purimenthusiast This is wrong it is for modesty when you become married your hair is now an ervah to others and it now has the same status as other parts of your body which are ervah's meaning it is now a matter of tznius and you have to cover it and many people think that wigs are bad for this
