ED Flags Indians Buying Dubai Properties with Credit Cards The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now sending notices to many Indians who bought homes in Dubai using their credit cards. Indian rules clearly say you cannot borrow money to buy property abroad. Credit cards are basically a loan from the bank. When you swipe your card for a down payment in Dubai (or click a payment link from builders), you are borrowing. This breaks the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) rules. Property buys overseas must be done only through proper bank channels under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). Credit cards are only for small things like shopping or travel – not for buying houses. Many people did this without knowing and now face ED questions, possible heavy fines, and legal trouble.

My favourite ICH (Indian Coffee House) has shifted fully to coal, as commercial LPG is not available. Restaurant is full, and orders are slightly delayed. Menu still intact.

I don't really understand this shaming culture around people sharing what they learn Posts like this are valuable. They show real life mistakes. And others can learn from these mistakes I'm a big advocate for learning in public, but this kind of reaction is exactly why people hesitate to share things online They're afraid of being judged We should be encouraging more openness, not discouraging it

@samlambert Diet Coke is far superior than Coke Zero (it is atrocious and I don’t understand how people drink it)

It’s to my great displeasure that the Europeans think Coke Zero is an appropriate alternative to Diet Coke. Barbarism.

It used to be the greatest show of human history after the first 4 seasons. How they massacred my boy after that, and the downfall started from season 5. But yeah, still, the first 4 seasons are absolute cinmea peak writing, would recommend for sure.

I completely respect that perspective, Jay. For many, erring on the side of caution is the only sensible move, especially when dealing with complex EVs. My intent wasn't to 'sit on the pulpit' either-it’s just that when you have the technical background to see the exact engineering spec (like this C3 SKF bearing), the 'why' behind the manufacturer's 5L quote starts to look less like safety and more like a refusal to repair. I appreciate the well wishes for the kms ahead! Hopefully, this pushes brands to be more transparent and repair-friendly for everyone. Safe travels. 🤝

So, if an electric motor fails, you can be saddled with a massive bill. It's just not the battery that's expensive. And not everytime can motors/components be repaired like this. It's best to choose EVs with lifetime warranty on battery and motor. That's one thing you, the buyer, can do to protect yourself. PS: While I understand that 5 lakh is eye wateringly expensive, I'm not going to blame Hyundai here. A cheap fix may not last long/be safe. When in doubt, go with what the manufacturer suggests. The last thing you want is a motor failure in the middle of nowhere.
Selvakumar D@Gs_Wanderer

Hyundai quoted ₹5,00,000 for an kona EV motor replacement. Fixed the same issue for ₹780 - by repairing, not replacing. 🧵 #konaev #niroev

Microsoft could snap the ball and chain off its leg and actually adopt Linux as its core. A relatively small company like Valve made their own flavour for their chosen hardware. It would shed the labor of keeping things up to date themselves. It would also free a good portion of macos prisoners.

Microsoft is spooked to death on multiple fronts: - Linux finally Getting Good at games, because of: - The eventual GabeCube, which, expensive or not, will present the best alternative in history to Windows gaming - Also Apple coming to eat the budget market for lunch

Imagine if an Indian airline CEO had done this, the entire nonsense Modi Government would have used its machinery to hammer him/her down alongside a forced clarification to disregard the alleged internal memo. Further, India’s Radio Rwanda would have been directed to run Pro-Government narratives that people shouldn’t give attention to such unnecessary information. Apart from that, RW Troll Syndicate would have been activated where his/her family’s personal and private information would have surfaced online, and threats would have been hurled at. And all of this State-enabled propaganda (by various actors in use) would have termed the whole Company’s internal affairs as Rumor Mongering. America is a GREATER DEMOCRACY than India — for a reason. Freedom of Speech in America isn’t curbed down by the Constitutional Courts as “Not Absolute”. #OilCrisis #America #USA #StraitOfHormuz #Qatar #Iran #Aramco

I don't think Rust is the best programming language for LLMs. The only reason why Greg said this is because Rust limits the LLM from making mistakes by not compiling shitty code, but the LLMs still suggest using unsafe! to bypass security rules. Therefore, I would say that Go is the best — if there is any "best" language for LLMs. Since LLMs are based on next-token prediction, it's more important that the code looks almost the same to get a good result. Go was designed to make every app around the globe look almost the same; for instance, there is only one way to make a loop compared to Rust, which has at least five that I could think of (loop, for, while, while let, and map). I want the best language to be rust tho
Greg Brockman@gdb

rust is a perfect language for agents, given that if it compiles it's ~correct

Government services are getting from bad to worse! My wife applied for her driving license renewal via the online portal of Delhi government (sarathi.parivahan.gov.in) on 27th Jan 2026 with all required documents & applicable fees, vide Application No. 377470526. Scrutiny of documents was completed on 28th Jan 2026, and all documents were found ok. And that is it! Since almost 2 months now, the application is still in processing stage. It is just not moving while the license is about to expire now. I also raised a grievance in the tool but, as expected, there is no response to the grievance as well for more than a week. What are the options in front of us now? Should we let the license expire and apply for a new one? What happens to the online fees that we paid? Seems there is no physical window where we can check the status since this was an online application. Can someone help? @TransportDelhi @gupta_rekha @dtptraffic @parivahanvibhag @ParivahanSewa @VParivahan
