Elevating randomized controlled trials over your own personal experience is not evidence-based. It’s a violation of what you would learn in the first week of Statistics 101, that randomized controlled trials do not apply to individuals. It’s the opposite of evidence-based.

@SecKennedy I agree with the MAHA goal, gold standard science & more transparency. Can you share the detail of the study you are conducting to determine the cause of autism? Publishing study methodology a priori is a quality metric of science & shows transparency.

Rick is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Manchester, Honorary Consultant in Emergency Medicine, and the Lead for Innovation and Partnerships at NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre. He has been Director of Research & Innovation at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust since 2020, and has recently been appointed as Chair of the Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Rick’s research focuses on improving care pathways for patients calling for emergency help with chest pain, particularly focusing on the early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction in hospitals and ambulances. In addition to his clinical roles, he has been a member of the editorial team for EMJ since 2014.
