My first mentor in corporate journey ✍🏾 Having the right mentor in early career matters the most to the journey…. is not just helpful, it is transformational. Sharing a personal story… Back in 2011, I started my first job at Infopark Kochi. New to corporate, new to Kochi, barely knowing how to navigate anything life felt tough. Salary was 16K, rent was 8K, and every day was about figuring things out. Amidst this uncertainty, I found my anchor - my lead. He was a 25-year-old young professional from Kerala, grounded in values, hungry to take bold risks and shaped by a life that demanded resilience. He came from a modest family, believed relentlessly in discipline and hard work. Both of us used to work till late, end up at 7PM and he used to ride back on his old bike (RX 135), daily having dinner at the same shawarma place - Rs.20 for shawarma. during dinners we used to share our lives beyond work, our challenges, our responsibilities both at work and beyond etc. That one year remains one of the most defining chapters of my corporate journey. I began as his first team member. Slowly, our unit grew. From being a lone contributor, I found myself maturing into a team lead under his guidance. He became an account lead for BFSI, and I watched not just his role evolve but his leadership philosophy in action. There were days when work felt unbearable, deadlines impossible, and demands unjustified. But he never left us alone. He stood with us, not above us. He protected the team, pushed back when expectations went beyond reason, and reminded us that excellence is not delivered through fear but through belonging. He taught me: - to lead with empathy, not authority - to build teams, not followings - to create leaders, not dependencies After that first year, he made a deliberate choice many leaders hesitate to make, he stepped away, so others like me could rise. I worked with other leads, grew across new portfolios, and watched them too evolve into global leaders. On the technology front we began with mainframes, then moved to Selenium, then Java adapting with every shift. In just 5 years, across 6 cities, I learned to set up pan-India teams. The foundation he built enabled me to accelerate and get 3 promotions in 5 years. Then came a turning point the kind that forces reflection. I Finally I hit a ceiling - the company told that I can’t move to next level for next 8 years … all the managers are already elder than me, people at my current role are already 8-10 years elder to me - so they can’t help . For the first time, I felt stuck. I went back to him. He said only one sentence “Leave. Go for your MBA. That will change your orbit.” He said it with conviction and because I trusted him, I listened. That choice, that moment, reshaped my life. Today, I sit as a partner in a consulting firm, guiding transformation and building capability at scale because one leader believed I could become more, and I had the foundation early in my career He, too, completed his chapter in India, fulfilled his responsibilities, cared for his mother, ensured his sister’s marriage before moving to the U.S., where he now lives, married, with children. Recently, he turned 40. When I congratulated him, he replied: “I see you travelling countries…” It wasn’t a comment, it was pride. The pride of a leader who knows he created another leader. True leadership is not micromanagement. It is not hierarchy. It is the ability to multiply yourself through others. Leaders do not create followers, Leaders create more leaders. NEET PG: AIQ PG Round 1 students submitted originals to colleges as per MCC rules and withdrawal window closed on 3 Dec. AP State Round 1 results out only on 5 Dec, with reporting deadline as 9 Dec. Hundreds who got better colleges in AP can’t join as originals are locked in AIQ!

Being a doctor in India means fighting the syllabus first, and the system forever. ​Got the seat I wanted in State counseling, but the "system" locked me into my AIQ seat before the state result even came out. ​We are just numbers to them, not future specialists. Totally helpless

Hello sir @prudhvitej157, why @ap_epdcl is not yet onboarded on BBPS? It's been a year already. Major dicoms in almost all the states have done it already. APCPDCL too in Andhra is live on BBPS. Believe me, at times it's hassle to make payment on APEDCL app, payments fail too
