@geeksiddhant been going down this rabbit hole for the last couple days. everything concluded me to how ignorant the ones boycotting mcp were - without understanding the foundation and intent of the protocol, or how tool calls and context fundamentally work with an llm. great write up man!

@dzhng wouldn't implementing a tool-filtering logic based on user's query be more apt here? it could be using semantic search (taking the top k tools) or using a lightweight llm (a 2-step inference) this might be better suited for specific needs but definitely not standarize-able

@Hitesh360 @planetgauri i agree, vaibhav sisinty is the extreme version of this. but you can’t really blame them because it is a level-playing field and anyone can participate. the real SMEs in these fields have potential but never really put in an effort to make content.

@planetgauri Yeah, they all tend to portray themselves as experts in everything whether it's AI, crypto, marketing, content, or any other field. Whenever a new trend emerges, they start acting like they know everything, but all they really offer is basic, surface level information.

@levelsio for #3 - doesn’t every other product/service do it the other way around? sell stuff for free first to get more users, feedback, ball rolling and then introduce pricing? do you think this works for you because you already have distribution?

how to build a bootstrapped startup without funding: 1. pick a problem you personally have. if you don't use your own product daily, quit now 2. skip the pitch deck. open your code editor. ship something ugly in a weekend 3. charge money from day 1. free users give you nothing but support tickets 4. use boring tech. PHP, SQLite, vanilla JS. frameworks are a trap that mass waste your time 5. host on cheap VPS ($5-20/mo). not AWS. you don't need kubernetes for 1,000 users 6. do customer support yourself. it's the fastest product feedback loop that exists 7. automate everything you do more than twice. cron jobs > employees. 8. grow on Twitter/X by building in public. your journey IS the marketing 9. keep your burn rate near zero so you never need to raise. ramen profitable > series A 10. say no to investors, cofounders, and "advisors" who want equity for intros i've been doing this for 10+ years now. no employees, no funding, no board meetings the entire VC game is designed to make you think you need permission to start you don't

classic ai brain fart: most llms tell you to walk 100m to the car wash and leave your dirty car at home. grok, pplx, gemini get it right thanks to real human web context. pure models just cant see the obvious intent models aren't improving, context engineering should.

@gkcs_ thank you. i read the article halfway and stopped after “AI is getting better and going to take your job” was said in 52 different ways, like that wasn’t said before. building new apps entirely with ai is no longer surprising, solving context engineering and memory is.

Let me summarise this for you. Para 1-11 Useless filler. Para 12-20 AI created an app. Hence AGI. Para 20-25 If you don't agree, you are using the free version of AI. Para 26 AI helped my friend's productivity. Para 27-35 More filler. Para 36 References METR, the same org that makes conclusions with 35 test subjects. Their research methodology is asking participants how AI helped them (instead of actually measuring productivity changes like Stanford Research). Para 37-43 More fearmongering. Para 44-47 Predicting AGI / Singularity. Para 48 "Dario Amodei, who is probably the most safety-focused CEO in the AI industry…" Does no one actually read the safety research papers from Antrophic? Don't they see that the model is forced to choose between 2-3 bad choices, so their marketing team can create clickbaity titles on how AI is misbehaving? Didn't Yann Lecunn tear them apart enough? Para 49-51 More fearmongering nonsense. Para 52-end The world is about to change. Dario Amodei is the most ethical guy, he cares about security more than profits. It's a complete coincidence that his political and company goals align with his "research" findings everytime. I hope this is paid marketing from Anthrophic. I certainly hope this person got money for how their guerrilla Anthropic promotion. This person seems to be surprised that AI is getting more useful. Anthrophic would like you to beleive that AI-2027 is a real thing. It helps justify their stock valuatikns. In 2024, a lot of people believed in AI-2027 (end of the world). Now, people which such opinions are considered idiots. I am now compelled to create a long form video, addressing these ridiculous posts. Coming soon :)

@viraj_sheth why is this article getting so much traction when all he said was “AI is getting better and coming for your job” in 51 different ways. Like everyone else isn’t screaming the exact same thing. 🙂

2 days ago, I was speaking to my cousin who has a 3 year old. In conversation he asked me, what careers do you think will flourish in the future. As a joke, I told him he should make his son a plumber/mechanic/carpenter because AI is coming for everyone’s jobs. This article tells you why what I said is no longer funny.

Really? I stopped reading halfway through. It was paragraph after paragraph of, “AI is getting better, and faster, and better faster, and it’s going to take all your jobs and do them better and faster. And it’s sooner than you think.” He’s right about all of that, but everyone else who has been saying this for the past three years has also been right. The most interesting part of the article is he had AI write an article about how we’re underestimating how good AI is, yet AI didn’t notice the multiple style errors when referencing Anthropic’s CEO. Sorry to be a hater. Matt’s most likely a lot smarter than I am, but I fail to see the profundity of this article.

Hi @IndiGo6E I have still not received my refund. It’s been over 5 days. When I check on your website and enter PNR, it says “under process,” whereas all of the official media/press statements say it’s done. No refunds received. Fix this.

Everyone knows marriage and kids in 20s is ideal case but not everyone has ideal circumstances to achieve that. If you aren’t born rich and have no prospects to marry rich, you have to prioritize career unfortunately.
