i'm still certain one of the (many) reasons DEAD RECKONING flopped is you can't sell a movie with a bike stunt that lasts a few seconds –– once you've seen it, you've seen it. you need to promise amazing *sequences*, IE the Cruise running down the tallest building in the world

@MikkiHEL As someone who lived in NYC for 10 years before finally seeing this movie, I have to say nothing about the city feels different other than the hairstyles, clothes, and cars. I take the Pelham 6 to Grand Central every Friday and I feel like the movie could happen at any moment!

@sajon77 It really encapsulates what I think of "New York City." Obviously, a lot of that is now gone, what with it being 50 years old and all, but a lot of it still remains.
But even beyond that, just as a film, it's just so damn rich in character and texture. It's great.

@ChronoKatie Rondo is a must-play for its intense goth-rock anime vibes and ability to defeat Dracula with pink fluffy animals. Portrait of Ruin (the middle DS game) is the best Castlevania post-Symphony IMO, and has a much more fun, nerdier witch protagonist than Order.

The Shaun of the Dead 20th Anniversary re-screening was incredible! It looked amazing in Dolby Vision & sounded fantastic in Dolby Atmos. This is still one of the greatest Zombie Horror films of all-time. It's got heart, humor & terror. Such a great movie & special event.🖤💚🧟♂️🧟♀️

@MikkiHEL I think it's fair to say Mario64/Ocarina had a sizmic impact on the grammar of 3rd-person 3D in a way few games (maybe Tomb Raider?) did, whereas Doom/Quake had the same outsized impact on 1st-person 3D. The answer depends a lot on where your gaming center of gravity was/is.

”Single-handedly.” Quake came out before the N64, and that’s just one super obvious example.
Sure, the Nintendo 64 was a big deal, but 3D gaming was already well established by the time it rolled out. It certainly wasn’t something brand new that the N64 introduced.
