always good to be back @yourallypally - tonight recording a special show @bbcradio3 for the VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations in May with @BBCCO @RAFMusic. In the foyer stands this brilliant mural by Helen Marshall - made of photos by local residents.

Another day of variety ⁦@lakesmusic⁩ Holehird (national collections inc Astilbes) & simply GLORIOUS evening with Robert Murray (tenor), Martin Roscoe (piano) and the subtle (& youthful!) Echéa string quartet. RVW ‘On Wenlock Edge’ is such a sublime work!

Tonight’s concert ⁦@lakesmusic⁩ (fabulous Marian Consort) often used macaronic text: mixture of vernacular & Latin. Rather like our days here: Lake D walks etc interspersed with music! Today: Neolithic Castlerigg Stone Circle! A great life!!

Another glorious day @lakesmusic The only time I’ve been to a concert by boat; only time I’ve had to climb precarious steps to concert room & only time I’ve listened to (GLORIOUS) unaccompanied Bach (Sonata 1; Partitas 1&2) with a ‘Swallows & Amazon’s’ picture in the background!!
