By continuing on the path of targeted digital regulations, Europe is ignoring the US-EU trade framework put in place by President Trump. European tech firms are benefitting mightily from the ability to compete freely and fairly in US markets, while (at the exact same time) EU leaders/regulators are attacking American tech firms operating in their markets.

Teachers shouldn’t be forced to bankroll political agendas.    Union dues are optional—nationwide.

@AVindman No less a progressive icon than Franklin Delano Roosevelt would disagree with your position on public sector unions.

My dad's union card was his ticket into the middle class. My wife's family are teachers. Yesterday Florida's Legislature passed SB 1296, a bill that strips public sector workers of their ability to organize and bargain, and made that path harder for everyone who comes next. We're not done.

Next week, I will bring the SAVE America Act to the floor. Senate Democrats will be forced to defend their outrageous positions on these issues and explain to the American people why common sense and the Democrat Party have parted ways.

Thanks to the leadership of @jenna_persons and @JonMartinEsq, Florida has passed Senate Bill 1296! This bill ensures school unions actually represent their members and will expedite salary increases to teachers. I look forward to @GovRonDesantis signing this critical bill.

Very important: in the Florida legislature SB1178 needs to get across the finish line. This bill will end the CCP surrogacy scam in the state of Florida. it has already cleared the State House and 3 Senate Committees. Florida would be the first state to do this.

What unbiblical garbage. 🗑️ “You can’t call yourself a Christian and destroy God’s creation with greenhouse gases” Do you even know what GHGs are, @jamestalarico? Here’s a hint; they’re necessary for life on earth.

Comparing union votes to elections for individuals seeking public office misses the mark. No election anywhere in this country confers exclusive power to an elected official. Checks and balances ensure you always have multiple representatives at each level of government (Governor, State House, State Senate, for example). On the other hand, union certification votes lock every member into being represented EXCLUSIVELY, with no recourse if they desire something different. House Bill 995 and Senate Bill 1296 ensure that any union granted the exclusive authority to negotiate pay and benefits truly represents its teachers.

School unions in Florida aren’t acting in the best interests of teachers, students, or taxpaying citizens — only the political activists at the top. Despite their efforts, Florida has become a model for education and parents’ rights. Now, Florida lawmakers have the opportunity to preserve and build on these achievements by passing legislation to hold school unions accountable. I appreciate the Trump Administration’s support for this transformative bill and look forward to @GovRonDeSantis signing it into law.
Secretary Linda McMahon@EDSecMcMahon

I commend @GovRonDeSantis and the Florida leaders working to ensure unions truly have the support of the educators they represent. This commonsense reform, SB 1296, reins in fringe political activism from teacher unions and refocuses them on accountability to teachers.

Check out this testimony from retired Florida teacher Kelley LaBedz. Kelley taught in Martin County and spent her final two years without a contract. Why? Because her union president refused to sign one unless he could collect a full teacher salary and benefits while working 100% on union business instead of in the classroom. As a result, Kelley and her colleagues didn't receive their raises, including funds already appropriated by the Legislature. She worked nine months at a salary that should have been higher, then retired without ever seeing a cent of the raise she earned. And here’s the part most people don’t realize: once a union is certified, it becomes the EXCLUSIVE bargaining agent, even if only a small fraction of employees voted for it. That meant Kelley and her coworkers were legally barred from going around the union and directly appealing to their employer for the raises lawmakers had already approved. SB 1296 by Senator @JonMartinEsq fixes this. #FlaPol

Listen to this public school teacher CALL OUT her union boss. "The president of our union held up the contract for everyone for his own personal gain." "I essentially begged my union to assist me and they left me on my own." She's calling on Florida to hold unions accountable.
