Hi guys, in 2024, suggesting that people should accept BAME* communities because without them there wouldn’t be doctors, cleaners, Asian restaurants etc Is not the take you think it is. People should accept them because they are HUMAN BEINGS. That is it.

- Needs to be increased clarity around levels of knowledge and skills across different bandings for our Support Workforce. - Tangible incentives needed to undertake Foundation degrees. - A greater partnership between Higher Education & Employers is needed to shape the offer.

As I have taken a step away from clinical, I found the skills gap analysis a very useful tool to reflect on what activities I need to undertake to fulfil my scope of practice @RCSLT @The_HCPC @CLCHNHSTrust #mysltday

I also appreciate the different routes I have taken was due primarily to my curiosity! Although the HCPC website appeared scary to navigate at first, it was actually very clearly set up and it was easy to understand how the different standards related to each other.

A significant part of my new role has meant gaining a more indepth understanding & clarity around my (and Speech & Lang specific) scope of practice. NHS Futures hosted a useful seminar which gave me some tools of how to reflect and document my practice journey
