@dyerjonathan Yes, but only from commercial satellite companies - so the data has a cost. Data Farming has the commercial relationships to sell it to you.

It's 2024, do we have any higher resolution satellite imagery options than Sentinel2? That are feasible for broadacre farming?

We've decided to move away from Earth Engine due to its huge compute costs. Which means learning new architectures and porting a lot of code... Any tips on where to start with resources to start that learning?

@TerraLuma @UTAS_ As an employee who occasionally recruits graduates, python is the most desirable answer.

I teach two remote sensing subjects at undergraduate level @UTAS_. For years, we have used ENVI for all our computer pracs. We teach some GEE, lastools, eCognition, etc, but it's mainly ENVI. What does the industry expect of uni graduates ? What would you recommend?

@gcamara Also worth noting that the commercial pricing is hugely expensive for GEE compute compared to running OS alternatives on virtual machines.

@sam_atk_308 @valpasq I'm still tweaking, but leaning towards 0.8. Lower values let some whispy stuff through, and I'm after high quality time series. Do you have a recommendation?

Comparing Sentinel-2 cloud masks in #earthengine. The new Cloud Score+ from @valpasq looks amazing, with great sensitivity to cloud shadow too

@sam_atk_308 @Keiko_geo yeah, they have access and have been using it fine until today. But now when we go to run even the tiniest bit of code instead of it zipping through in split seconds it takes literally minutes or sometimes doesn't run at all. Have taught it for years without this issue!

Help from #earthengine gurus pls - I have students trying to run some very basic code and one or two seem to have their accounts locked to some degree - it's going SUPER slow. Not sure who to contact to prove they are legit? @Keiko_geo
