My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces): I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept): Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow

We raised $6.5m to build humanity’s platform for uploaded consciousness. today on international women’s day i’m thinking about the many different paths women are walking. some are starting over. some are chasing dreams. some are finding their voice. some are holding it together quietly. some are lifting others up while carrying so much themselves. after navigating my own health challenges recently, i’m reminded how much strength it takes to be a woman. our bravery. our boldness. our femininity. thanks to the women in my life who inspire me 🤍

It started with the silly idea of generating images and turning them into music. We didn’t know if it would work, and we didn’t care if anyone used it. We were building it for ourselves. As musicians, we marveled at how this instrument could inspire and challenge us. A lot has changed since then, but that sense of wonder has remained.
