@RogueLikely @LullabyLorelai Second, the cheaper Switch in Japan was sold because of the weak yen compared to the dollar. For a Japanese person, with a Japanese salary it cost the same as the international price version does for us.
English

@RogueLikely @LullabyLorelai I very much agree the price hike isnt good, but “just for fun” is a baseless argument.
The entire industry is in a state of chaos, prices are jumping (especially ram) and other companies are also raising prices because of it.
English

@RTersu @JustThatGuyGG @LullabyLorelai And even then, Switch 2 offers good performance for its size.
English

@RTersu @JustThatGuyGG @LullabyLorelai Nintendo isn’t in the graphics race as it isnt what the most people care about most, it hasn’t been since the Gamecube.
Especially in portable systems, they have to consider more than graphics, such as battery life and size. It’s the same strategy they ran starting with Gameboy

@Giga80085 @TonyBaduy @LullabyLorelai Wii U ports mostly came out in the first years, which isnt odd considering most people never had the chance to try them and they were great. It helped Nintendo get back on their feet after the financial hit of the Wii U era and gave them a strong launch.
English

@TonyBaduy @LullabyLorelai over half of the entries are just wii-U ports.
switch 2 is still just getting ports at full price.
this isn't about what's the bare min they did now.
it's about them being a decade behind it's competitors on giving the bare minimum.
English

@Giga80085 @Zachary02480085 @LullabyLorelai As a Wii U owner I agree that their reselling of ports for full price is questionable on Switch (considering Galaxy was 20 on wii u and 40 on switch). However, Nintendo has always been backwards compatible whenever they could, quite alot of their systems are backwards compatible.
English

@Zachary02480085 @LullabyLorelai No. The ps3 not being backwards compatible is because sony fucked up the security so tighly. They cant get back access to it.
Meanwhile nintendo actively chooses to quadruple dip.
You'd know this if you weren't preoccupied sucking them off.

@Fuzzybeard_3 @Pirat_Nation Better u.s. law
Just like your healthcare system?
English

@Pirat_Nation Oor the Dutch government won't be able to just take people's data if its protected by better u.s. law.
English

The Netherlands has blocked a U.S. company from buying Solvinity, a Dutch cloud provider connected to DigiD, the digital ID system millions of people in the country use every day.
DigiD is used for taxes, healthcare, pensions, and local government services, so it plays a major role in daily life in the Netherlands.
The U.S. company, Kyndryl, wanted to buy Solvinity, but the Dutch government stopped the deal over concerns about security and control of sensitive citizen data.
Officials worried that U.S. ownership of infrastructure linked to DigiD could place Dutch data under U.S. laws like the CLOUD Act, allowing American authorities to request access.
Its one of the first times the Netherlands has blocked an American tech acquisition over national digital security and data protection concerns.

A few reminders.
By the end of 2014, the Wii U was the only console in it's generation that:
-Had backwards compatability with it's predecessor console.
-Had backwards compatibility with it's predecessor console's accesories.
-Had free online multiplayer.
It was the most economically friendly console, and the games that came out for it were solid hits, since they later wound up being top sellers when re-released for the Nintendo Switch.
It was a great console, but was overlooked entirely because either people didn't understand what it was about or they couldn't play their Call of Duty or Battlefield games on it.

Jony Ive: Using touchscreens for basic car controls is a 'dumb design' that endangers lives.
"People are dying because of dumb design."
"Multi-touch shouldn't be in a car. It requires by definition that you're looking at a display."
When the man who popularized the touchscreen admits putting an iPad in your dashboard is a deadly mistake, automakers must listen.
I grew up in cars with analog switches, and I miss them. You could operate the radio or the climate control by pure muscle memory while keeping your eyes on the road.
Now, the data backs up that everyday frustration. A University of Washington study proves touchscreens cause lane drifting. Starting in 2026, Euro NCAP will actually strip 5-star safety ratings from cars that refuse to use physical buttons for basic controls.
We sacrificed safe, intuitive hardware for flat screens. It is time to bring the buttons back.

@ironchefbuu @tonjkb Changing CD's is undeniably just as distracting as a touch screen, but is a voice command a touch screen?
English

@tonjkb 25 years ago, I used to change CDs while driving. This required opening CTR console, flipping thru a cd holder, removing cd, swapping cds, sliding cd into the holder and putting it back in center console. Now, I can use voice command to listen to any song in existence.
