The gap between TradFi and DeFi isn't technical anymore, and @Securitize just proved it in public markets: an @NYSE listing that went live onchain the same day. Real shareholder entitlements, voting and dividends intact, tradable 24/7 from a wallet. A different thing from the synthetic wrappers people picture when they hear "tokenized stock." The demand signal is coming top-down now. For founders building the layer beneath this (custody, compliance, settlement, identity), the window is opening faster than most diligence cycles track. 140+ companies (incl @stripe, @Visa, @BlackRock) committing to Open USD tells you where institutional capital is positioning for the next phase. The first generation of stablecoins won on speed and access. The question now is which one becomes the settlement layer institutional workflows actually trust at scale. What is interesting to me is whether Open Standard's reserve transparency and governance hold up as it scales. That's where these win or lose institutional confidence. The real signal in the @ICE_Markets and @OKX deal is what it confirms about where institutional capital is actually moving. Seeing the NYSE's parent company commit to tokenized securities rails validates our thesis at @DraperDragon. From a diligence view: retail and institutional access converging on the same rails is a structural shift, and it's a strong signal for founders building b2b infrastructure for tokenized assets. But we're still in the early innings. Most tokenized assets today are just digital representations of off-chain ones. The real opportunity is what comes next: used as collateral, integrated into DeFi, traded across global on-chain capital markets. Manufactured yield and native yield are not the same thing, and institutional investors should know which one they're buying. Bitcoin pays nothing natively. So BlackRock's covered-call ETF and Metaplanet's BTC-linked bonds aren't unlocking yield that was always there. They're engineering income on top of a scarce asset and pricing the risk in: capped upside, counterparty risk, or credit exposure wearing a Bitcoin label. The wrapper shapes how the risk is seen. Most smart money looks at Bitcoin and sees a store of value. I think that framing ages badly, and the teams building right now are why. A generation of founders is building the lending, payments, insurance, credit, privacy, and programmability layers that turn BTC from a passive holding into capital that works.

The crypto story worth tracking right now has nothing to do with Bitcoin's price. Tokenized RWAs just printed their 10th straight monthly record: $28.9B in May. Tokenized equities up 20%+ in a month. Stablecoins at $320B, even as crypto prices fell. Institutional adoption doesn't wait on price action. It waits on rails that work: cross-border flows, real asset settlement, infra connecting TradFi to onchain. The early-stage founders we back are laying exactly this (@opentrade_io on RWA-backed yield, @centrifuge on institutional tokenization). The same report carries a warning, though. The StablR exploit saw $8.35M minted against zero collateral through a multisig flaw, and the token depegged. Trust is the hardest asset to tokenize. DeFi yield stopped being a product problem a while ago. The hard part now is distribution. @veda_labs just made that obvious: the same vault stack powering Kraken DeFi Earn is now reachable by 2,000+ teams on Privy through one API call. Stablecoins went from 20% to 70% of assets in Privy wallets in a year. Once balances sit there, embedded yield stops being optional. In our diligence process, we keep asking one thing: does this become infrastructure others build on, or stay a point solution?
