This is one of the best World Cups in recent memory, but is also blighted by corruption & accusations of bias. They don't even try to be subtle or address concerns. You cannot justify having every single referee to be from the same country, let alone one still in the World Cup.

I love football. I love late drama. I love comebacks. I love knowing that anything is possible and feeling like we’re watching a steady stream of some of the greatest games ever. I do not love how we are expected to ignore the inconsistencies in officiating and the interventions from VAR, which have largely been heavily weighted towards certain teams and its players. If you’ve watched and followed everything in this World Cup and are still subscribed the idea that it’s all fair, delusionville must be a lovely place to reside.

If VAR had gone any further back in that Egyptian move Tutankhamun would be involved. How far do you go back? Probably right decision but what a pity, what a goal that would have been. 80 yards, majestic move, precise passing, would have been one of the goals of the tournament,

How far back in the play does VAR go ? Back to kick off soon !! Hint of farce about that Egypt goal being ruled out. The goal would have stood for 150 years prior to VAR.

I’m not quite at the level of the “games gone” choir yet, but I’m getting dangerously close. Let’s just scrap refs all together and have a robot overlord call every single thing exactly to the letter of the law. That’s where we are headed.

VAR is a hell of a thing.

Anyone disrespecting Cristiano Ronaldo isn't truly a football fan. It's time we gave him his flowers. You can be fans of both Ronaldo and Messi. Nobody has ever worked harder, sacrificed more, or shown greater discipline than him in football history.

@DaxMcCarty11 Wild. That was one of the dark horse pics. Unlucky for them given the massive disparity in the number of passes, shots, and final third entries between the two. Good on Paraguay for hanging on with ten men for an hour and not parking the bus and continuing to press and attack.

Turkiye: joint favorite to win the group along with USMNT. Eliminated from the World Cup after 2 games (haven’t even played group winners US). 62 shots, no goals to show for it. Easily the most disappointing team of the World Cup thus far. We hardly knew ya.
