I'm sunburned, and out of ibuprofen I need this post go viral so I can pay for all this. Why couldn't she have chosen sourdough bread? Or crochet? Or triathlons?

@FischerKing64 Trump can give away the land area of most of DC to Maryland to preclude Statehood. Keep the area whereby the courts, Congress,State Dept. and embassies reside in a newly declared Federal District. You can also unload the DC city governance as well. They did this with Virginia

Some people are objecting, saying "but redistricting takes place immediately, not in 2032." Yes I know. That's what I'm referring to in the last paragraph with respect to Virginia. The point about 2032 is that we have a census in 2030, which everyone agrees will result in more House seats in red states and fewer in blue states. The first election where that will show up is in 2032. So the left has a short window to get a lot done before then. This is why they're talking about making Puerto Rico and DC into states, and why they're doing redistricting in Virginia. They can't pack SCOTUS, secure their power, and reverse gains if they can't push things like a court packing law through Congress. And that will be harder as of 2032.

Packing the Supreme Court would require replacing the Judiciary Act of 1869 - which fixes SCOTUS at 9 Justices. So the left needs to get a law through Congress, not just win the presidency. With red states growing and blue states shrinking, and with today’s SCOTUS ruling prohibiting racial gerrymandering, the left feels its window is closing. A favorable congressional map for the GOP means the left could never get a new judicial act through Congress, could not pack the court and reinstate Roe v Wade or overturn today’s voting rights act decision. New districts are coming in 2032. That’s not much time. So the intensity around court packing is going to increase. The redistricting effort like what we saw in Virginia will amp up. Because the wins of the right in recent years are on the verge of becoming irreversible. Remember this when you hear someone like Obama taking in grand terms about changing rules to protect ‘our democracy.’

@andrew_willans @Geiger_Capital The Biden Admin unleashed the money printers to the tune of 8 trillion+ causing massive inflation in the last five years. There are other causal factors as mentioned that is causing QOL issues and economic pressure on the middle class to unravel societal boundaries.

@santa_m3 @Geiger_Capital Mostly it is money creation that causes inflation. This is a well established fact not merely an economic theory. The money power in the United States serves capital.

The California wealth tax is not on income… It’s 5% of your net worth. It’s state seizure of private assets. This is now on the ballot and likely to pass. Realize where we are.

@andrew_willans @Geiger_Capital I agree and the wealthy get tax breaks that enable evasion of taxes that the middle class is forced to pay. This should be rectified. My issue is w/Govt taking a bite of the apple and then saying to itself "Why stop w/them?" There is a whole other group to rape and so on.

@santa_m3 @Geiger_Capital A separate issue. I agree that the quality of governance needs improvement. We probably all do. The reality is that capital is taxed far less fairly than income. That should be addressed, but we need to be big enough to debate this clearly and properly. Good luck.

@andrew_willans @Geiger_Capital I concede your first point(sentence). Inflation in CA has as much to do w/illegal & legal immigration competing for resources like housing and jobs and usual supply & demand of goods. Enforce & remove illegal immigrants and many of these problems will be resolved.

@andrew_willans @Geiger_Capital Apparently the fine print on pg 26 allows them to lower the threshold on the amount of wealth i.e 1 billion now goes to 500 million and so on. They have a clause that also revises they can do it more than one time even yearly. They don't want 180 billion dollars they want 5%
