my kids eat off ceramic or glass dishes (because I am scared of materials) but — after having some experiences with steel and plastic — I actually think having *heavy* dishes makes them less likely flip them onto the floor

I've had the same hair cut for over a decade so in January, I said 2025 will be the year of hair experiments. Been growing out since late Feb...so far going for a punk shag or wolf cut. It's growing on me! Let's see what else we can do after it grows a bit more!

@Katygetskrunk Your thermos should have a lid and you can dispense the tea (in small quantities) into the lid), and then swirl to cool it down. Provided the product starts around 82C, in 5 minutes it should hit 75C, and then at 20 minutes, 55C.
It's a *ritual*.

Just spent 4 hours fucking around with policies and IAM roles in AWS because I have no idea what I'm doing.
It finally works but jeez that was awful. Just in case I needed to be reminded I'm but a lowly frontend dev who has been largely shielded by the AWS kraken 🤣

Has anyone built a solution that monitors all AWS Support tickets in an AWS org and records them in a central data store?
Problem: I often see folks mention case 123456789012 on Slack and I have no way of working out which AWS account to log into from just that case ID.

Running on cloud doesn't mean you don't need kernel / systems folks. I don't know how execs possibly got this idea. You own your own Kernel in EC2 / GCP

I don't think the center screen will be a problem, provided that the joint is sealed using something temperature resistant.
Biggest question is why are the cooktops raised.

@sargun @ImpulseLabs_ It just looks like it was designed by a bay area start-up full of 20-somethings who have no experience designing white goods products. I just have a hard time imagining how many cycles of starchy pasta water or 400-degree oil boiling over this thing can take.

@jaydcarlson @ImpulseLabs_ My worry with this design is repairability. I spilled some water on a range a few years ago, and replacing the control board was going to be a $700 repair plus $500 of labor vs. replacing it was $2000.

@jaydcarlson @ImpulseLabs_ I'd bet the joining material between the screen and the metal isn't gasketted and is just an inlayed insert (or a really think rubber gasket, and if so, that shouldn't get much dynamic force, so it'd be fine). That being said, I'd love if @ImpulseLabs_ would do a teardown.
