English

@Vijaya20785192 @ContactVVR Most people in India I see are increasingly wearing form fitting jeans or leggings, cotton is almost non-existent nothing to do with weather.
English

Funny that I have been wearing bindi with my western formals even to International conferences across the globe and those beem bohs sitting in India are like "Bindi doesn't go with my skirt/ jeans..."😆😆😆😆
KNaachiyar5@Knaachiyar5
A bunch of dmfk females are saying a small dot of the forehead would make a world of difference when combined with western dresses!!! It is just in your mind and a conformist idea. Where is the progressive woman who is free from such conformism?

@jassneetsingha completely believable. after paying a bomb 4 citi retail, they alienated evryone by being utterly clueless abt t&c. as 4 the helpline, they cldnt locate the branch i walked into, its not on our list. like ... really?
English

Axis bank I’m genuinely disappointed.
Walked into an Axis Bank branch just now to check for a Burgundy upgrade.
The folks sitting there had no clue about the eligibility criteria.
“Sir, you need to open a new account.”
“Sir, give a ₹5 lakh cheque.”
I’m like… what?
I literally had to pull out the Burgundy eligibility PDF and show it to them.
And even after that — straight denial:
“Sir, this is not in our system.”
🤦♂️

@ShivamVahia @VishalBhargava5 sun/air dried clothes hv a diff feel. silly to waste free energy and spend it on machines. n isnt the inside of yr home yr personal space? can stop hanging clothes outside spoiling the bldg facade
English

@VishalBhargava5 Hahahahaha the most sustainable way of drying clothes is considered lower class.
But sure, standing on a road like an idiot with a banner to be an obstructionist is considered high class.

@DocPriyamMD @Dr_Chibuike_M ahh. it's been a long time, but i've experienced this. painful throat etc, then this lump gets coffed out and hey presto. all ok. the body is amazing ...
English

That looks like a nasopharyngeal cast.
These are essentially organized molds of the nasal cavity or throat made of thickened mucus, fibrin, and sometimes inflammatory cells. They often occur following a severe upper respiratory infection where the discharge becomes so viscous it hardens into the shape of the space it occupies.
English

@DocPriyamMD opp 4 me. never styd up past 10 pm as a student. refused allnights as an ad pro. but during covid evryth moved online n it took longer 2 finish work. now i crash during the day, come 2 life at 10 pm. i know i hv 2 correct that sleep cycle, just dont seem to be able to.
English

A middle-aged man walked into my OPD today with a peculiar complaint: "Doctor, I have suddenly become a morning person, but I have never felt more miserable."
He tells me he has no trouble falling asleep at 10 PM. But like clockwork, he snaps wide awake at 3:30 AM every single night. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t drift back. He spends those silent hours in a state of "heavy" dread, staring at the ceiling, feeling like the day ahead is an impossible mountain to climb.
By the time the sun is up, he’s physically and mentally drained.
In medicine, we call this Terminal Insomnia (Early Morning Awakening). While anxiety usually makes it hard to fall asleep, this specific pattern is a classic biological marker for Melancholic Depression!!
His circadian rhythm has shifted....his body is dumping cortisol hours too early, triggering a state of hyper-arousal during what should be his most restorative sleep.
It’s a reminder that depression isn't just "feeling sad"...it’s a systemic physiological glitch that hijacks your internal clock.
If someone tells you they have started waking up hours before their alarm and they feel their worst at dawn, don't just call them an early bird. Screen them for depression.

@ShivAroor wasnt there a quink also? vaguely remember the name ...

@neorevolt @HyderabadiChic3 @AarthiScans re aarthi ... they dont offer all proc at all centers n all centers mentioned in their ads r not operational. they never give a callback and no one picks up so getting the appt is difficult. the gud thing is they give a disc if u go aft 7 pm
English

@HyderabadiChic3 Check out @AarthiScans - costs 1/2 of other facilities & is clean & well maintained
x.com/neorevolt/stat…
Neo@neorevolt
Other labs charge 7500-8500 Rs for MRI @AarthiScan charges only 3500 Rs Apparently, they charge less cos they don't pay 50% to referring doc I accompanied someone & it was clean, professional with Siemens m/c They also do Blood tests (also at home), XRay etc In many states
English

Had MRI for the first time. Enquired to doctor, why MRIs is so costly. He replied, machine cost plus setup requires 10cr+. Need to pay 16-19% duty on machines as well. Come out with two questions in mind.
First, why does the Government impose such duties on equipment used for essential and emergency medical treatment.
Secondly, I wondered why, even in 2026, we still need to import such machines instead of manufacturing it in India.

@beastoftraal idlis? in mumbai at least ubiquitous, no oil involved, light, reasonably priced. in blr a rava idli fm the shop next door was plenty gud nuff. if u need a stop-gap, a banana (i dont like them but they r ubiquitous) or peru r gud options. fast food setups r an avoid.
English

When I'm traveling for work, from Bengaluru to another tier 1 Metro or tier 2 town anywhere in India, and I'm starved of time in between meetings, what are my options in terms of reasonably quick and reasonably priced healthy food? Heart-healthy vegetarian food, particularly in my case?
Before my angioplasty in August 2025, I used to default to a McDonald's Paneer Burger meal. I can never get tired of it, and heart scare last year ensured that I did :) Since then, more often than not, I have defaulted to Subway's vegetable salad (with paneer added for protein, and all the vegetables that they have). Subway is usually ubiquitous in many towns, easy to find even in food courts in most malls or airports, and a Google search for 'Subway near me' with my meeting or client location as anchor usually gets one for me in the 1-3 kms vicinity. It's also very quick and clean to eat with a spork (spoon + fork contraption they give us). I also add very little sauces on it - usually sweet onion and honey mustard, one squirt at best.
My second default is California Burrito's Barbeque Paneer Salad without rice. California Burrito is not as ubiquitous as Subway, though. Particularly in places like airports.
What else can I consider that is...
(a) Ubiquitous (so I don't waste time searching? +
(b) Reasonably priced (say, under Rs.300-500)? +
(c) Standardized, repeatable, low-variance option?
I have seen the menus of other standardized and ubiquitous chains like Starbucks and McDonald's (among others), but do not find anything that fits these criteria.
Is this a good opportunity for,
(a) Either a new chain in India that focuses exclusively on quick + healthy food options (less oil, no deep frying, more vegetables, fresh, healthy ingredients in general, low/no sugar/sodium)?
(b) Or existing chains to add healthy options to their menu, and market those without antagonizing their already existing/popular mostly unhealthy options?

@iamankitpande fwiw i think there shld be a cap on the maxm amt hosp can charge 4 gloves. there's a major scam happening there, separate of wastage

Healthcare in India is becoming a money making machine.
A friend’s grandmother is in ICU for the last 4 days.
Daily medicine cost alone is around 40–50K.
He is not allowed inside ICU.
He cannot see the treatment.
He cannot see which medicines are actually being used.
He can only stand outside and keep paying.
Medicines go from pharmacy to ICU.
Families don’t know what is used, what is not.
Maybe some goes back from the back door.
But there is no transparency. Only bills.
Private hospitals know families won’t argue when their loved one is in ICU.
This is not just treatment.
For many families, this is financial destruction in the name of healthcare.
English

@iamankitpande not allowed inside: which hosp is this? yes, u r not allowed 2 *stay* with the patient - mostly 2 reduce crowding or infection/avoid straining the patient - but u can certainly visit. charges are incr an issue but i find doc more willing 2 explain than they were 10 yrs ago
