one way to do this that would get sf to embrace it with open arms is to have the industrial design cohort (the jony ives and other crew who’ve designed all the epic consumer gadgets in last 20 years) start an overall design school and naturally expand that to fashion

@BasQuxFoo @neilcybart MacBook Pro is not the right device to compare to. Laptops / Desktops were priced in that range for years and were mass consumer category already. Vision Pro / Quest (like the Watch or iPad) is a new category and that price definitely makes it inaccessible for the masses

1) Apple Vision Pro isn’t widely accessible at $4,000 (with optical inserts). This leads to a weird “since I can’t buy it, it must not be any good” mentality that many people hold. There are very few Apple products that fit that bill. Apple Watch and AirPods are widely accessible from a pricing perspective. 2) Most people have never worn Apple Vision Pro, so they just repeat what others say. You can tell when someone has never tried Apple Vision Pro because they say things like “it’s a prototype” or “it’s a mess.” Anyone who has tried the device can attest to those descriptions being factually wrong. 3) Meta has been waging a PR war against Apple and Apple Vision Pro. Zuckerberg and Boz have been non-stop gaslighting people for the past two years, and I do think they have an audience for such gaslighting. Many Android zealots have shifted over to wanting Meta to succeed with HW.
