@mopeymcsadsack One nice feature is you can mute for a day or a week. So if some channel is super noisy and you don’t feel the need to participate in that conversation, you can choose to mute it for 24 hours and come back tomorrow.

@mopeymcsadsack For me, Slack has always felt more “opt-in”. Join the channels you want and don’t worry about the rest. Discord is the opposite: you automatically see all channels and need to “mute” the ones you would rather not see. I would recommend muting voraciously.

can someone explain discord to me like you were pitching a startup ("it's like x, but for y!") i've never had any problem parsing info in any tool/platform like this before, or naturally adapting to online community norms 😭 i'm kinda shook
