My vibe coded app has over 1,000 users in under 4 weeks 😱🤯. Over the festive holidays I got a little bored and figured I’d experiment whether I could actually prompt my way into a complete app with Claude Code. The project I decided to work on was one I had been thinking of for long time but I simply never had the time to actually build it. Bottlenecked by having to type out the code myself. Hence the experiment to vibecode 265Charades. A charades game loaded with Malawian words, it’s USP. Now I’ve worked on so many apps over the years both personal and work projects but this is the first time I’ve seen growth this fast. With an 82% week on week growth, it’s growing like a wild fire and is the fastest growing personal project I’ve ever made. All with a less than $50 marketing budget 😮‍💨.

My tablet/pc (Surface) is across the room in sleep mode but I am “coding” on it through my phone (/remote-control). Propped on the sofa arguing with Claude about the most performant way to render a large multi-sheet Excel export as PDF in 2026. There will be a price to pay for AI one day but I love this life.

We need to stop talking about product design in absolutes… there are no rules. Everything is made up. Do what makes sense and feels right.

Avoid games where the prize is validation from people you do not respect.

Funny thing about AI is that if you’re a college student in 2026 you can either learn 10x the amount you would have learned in undergrad without AI, or you can learn 0.1x (and still get good grades), it’s literally up to you!

It’s the best time to build all the ideas you’ve ever had - the app you wished existed, the design you thought was obvious, the library you always wanted. And finally realise why nobody built them :)

What the heck is going on with Claude Code. It spends a lot of time telling me things are going to take hours days or weeks to do and wants to stop working a lot. "Or if you'd rather I sleep on it and pick up tomorrow with fresh eyes, that's fine too." Like why would I want you to sleep on it? You don't sleep.

Before the agents became reliably autonomous, we chatted with them in a terminal. Their context could only fit a million tokens (max). They were slow. They had “hallucinations”. We inspected their every thought. We watched their every output. The mid-20s were weird for us all.

To be clear: the team at GitHub is dealing with a situation at a scale most engineers will never face—and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Credit to them for quickly finding and sharing a workaround, even if it’s pretty painful to use in practice. I mostly posted this because I first saw the warning on my phone and couldn’t help but laugh at how absurd it would be to actually follow those steps there.

just asked the team to turn off opus 4.7 no true gains in performance, burning compute (and money) honestly, imo, a bad release from Anthropic

It’s crazy how Claude Code has gotten so lazy and terrible. Opus 4.7 is so defensive to its poor efforts. Maybe it’s time to switch to Codex.
