The more I seriously pursue a professional career in basketball. The more I realize how much more we can get out of training. I think we have dug way too deep of a hole in the weight room.

Because I'm petty and it makes me laugh: I worked with a guy once who got a job down south. All of a sudden he started wearing a cowboy hat (never worn before) and creating a country back story, which looks remarkably like pandering. Anyway, I jokingly asked him where his cowboy hat was when he moved jobs (for like the 12th time in 15 years).... Since then we've seen a TRIPLING of cowboy hat density on the timeline. So many questions: "Is the re-dedication to the cowboy hat a response to me?" "If genuine, what prompted the sudden love of the cowboy hat?" Most importantly: "What road to Damascus experience occurred that served to exponentially accelerate the love of the cowboy hat?! The jokes on me. I spent 30 minutes researching this and I've never been on an NFL 30 under 30 list. My back story sucks too :(

@coactimcaron @clh_strength It’s ok fellas. It’s just an opinion. Just talking to a friend on a podcast. Research your environment and make your distinctions. Just generalities from a large sampling of my experiences.

@clh_strength To me it creates a mislabeled stereotype that associates lowered workload with with intelligence. I’ve seen weak associations like this get legs and it becomes accepted logic. The opposite being that someone didn’t try hard because they had lesser workloads

4:54 long video of @LibertyMBB pre-game dynamic stretching routine. This was before their @ASUNSports Conference Tournament Championship game at @KSUOWLSMBB Are we as coaches willing to spend 10:00 at the start of practice during the early part of the season to do this? Obviously, once the routine is learned, the time is cut in half. I think it’s important for injury prevention (prehab) and loosening the soft tissue / fascia / fluid part of an athletes body. Kids are playing more and more today as compared to 5, 10, 15 years ago. I believe we have to educate ourselves on how best to prepare our players bodies for workouts and practice. @hoopdiaries @Robb_Hornett @Fergus_Connolly @HoopsStrength @JSCRonline @CFC_Sasser

On court skill training - You can typically have VOLUME or you can have INTENSITY - but you can rarely have BOTH! Training HARD is not always about the hours or duration. We define training HARD by displaying a FORCE, INTENSITY, and BURST that others can FEEL! #DRIVEN

The more I train people the more I realize how much I overvalued lifting weights & undervalued training the movement spectrum. I ask myself, if I am stronger than my professional athletes at an exercise yet they are more athletic than me… does this exercise really matter?
