@dennisbhooper In one of Weiner's commentary tracks he said something like, "there's my sitcom training" in reference to the fact that every scene had some kind of hook or conceit to turn on. It really helps the show be engaging

Obviously not accurate to say that every scene is a short story in Mad Men because plenty do just advance the plot or set up a future scene or just land a couple of killer jokes but it probably has the highest Scenes That Are Also Short Stories per episode ratio of any series

Why’s everyone (five people who look like me) talking about this book? According to my dogears I made it 300 pages in about 12-15 years ago. Couldn’t tell you one thing about it, except it’s about a professor remembering stuff.

@meliorism We're not the BBQ capital of the country by any stretch, but you can reliably get a great meal at: Hometown, Pig Beach, Au Jus, Morgan's, any Mighty Quinn's location. Hill Country and Dinosaur also solid but you gotta know what to pick
