@Monty2740 True Hultzen and Tyler Wilson were the other 2 weekend starters at season end. UVA had a real chance to make it to the finals but Danny Hultzen was sick in his start and was only allowed to go 3 innings in a game uva lost 2-3 in extra innings vs eventual champ USC.

2011 UVA’s pitching staff was so good that their midweek guy was throwing perfect games (if I recall he was a weekend arm by postseason). All 4 starting arms had ERAs under 3, with Roberts and Hultzen having ERAs under 2. Both bullpen aces had Sub-2.00 ERAs as well.

@CoachYahn Missing 2 FTs would be a physical mistake. Panicking and getting a pass intercepted is a mental mistake. Allowing UConn to close the 19 point deficit, that’s another issue all together.

And if Boozer holds the ball, gets fouled with 6 seconds left, then misses FTs and some scenario plays out where UCONN hits a game winner… Those same people would be saying he was stupid for not passing to a wide open teammate. If you haven’t coached/played in high stakes moments like that, you don’t realize winning is a lot harder than it looks on your couch. The after-the-fact counterfactuals are undefeated!

@_andrewcarter You are entitled to your opinion, but Duke (especially basketball) is by far the most hated fan base in the Triangle. UNC are humble self haters, and NCSt doesn’t win enough to chirp about much.

It’s funny following the national reax to another Duke meltdown. I get it. Fun to see for some. Evil empire, etc. From someone who grew up there and closely covered the ACC for a long time, especially in the Triangle … Duke is not the most insufferable bunch in that ‘hood.

@JayBilas With 10 seconds left at the start of the play, Duke doesn’t even have to get the ball across half court. How crazy. Just eat the ball after the second pass back under the basket.

It was a crazy action packed day in the ACC.

@Monty2740 Not if you’re a UVA fan it’s not pretty neat. But give AJ credit, he tied the lefties in the UVA line up in knots yesterday.

The Colarussos are the rulers of BC athletics this week. AJ Colarusso goes 6 innings with just one unearned run against #9 UVA in big baseball win Yesterday, AJ’s younger sister, Giulia Colarusso, scored 3 goals and had an assist in lacrosse win over Stanford. Pretty neat.

@BartHanson I lean towards it wasn’t cheating, because even if she knew all the cards being held, it was still pretty close to a coin flip before the river. Thus it was not as if he was bluffing with zero equity.

To this day people still ask me about the J4 hand (I was the commentator). At the time I was convinced it wasn’t legit as no one calls with J high losing to most bluffs. But with no new evidence since I lean slightly towards no. But I still don't believe she misread her hand.
