@MainstreamViews Carbonara is guanciale, cracked pepper, pecorino romano, and egg yolk. Anything else, and it’s not carbonara. Almost no restaurants serve it, the stuff they serve is an unrelated cream soup dish with the same name.

Carbonara is terrible, chunks of pork fat floating in a sauce that's half way between mayonnaise and scrambled eggs. I had a friend who made a great carbonara once and then I started ordering it at restaurants only to come to the conclusion that my friend had made it completely wrong and thus much improved the recipe

Paths develop sometimes in not so straight lines... 1. Plug bottles into machine's hole 2. get receipts 3. put receipt in pocket 4. do the groceries 5. 'mit karte bitte' 6. pay and get out 7. 'oh schei**e I forgot to use the receipt. Nevermind, next time.' 8. Back home, put everything away and chill 9. Do the laundry 10. Receipt was still in pants' pocket 11. Repeat enough times till you decide to buy a water filter and never a bottle anymore

Except in this case you literally pay the amount as a surplus to the actual price, when you purchase any bottle/can. So, yeah, you're carrying around empty bottles just to get your money back (and then lose the receipt and your money with it anyway). Don't export this to other countries. Don't.

@AMurderOfDucks I’ve been reading it out loud to myself all day. I made these phonetic cadence graphs to perfect my pronunciation. Y axis is pitch and dots are syllables with volume indicated by color, from softest (red) to loudest (purple). Italians: is this pronunciation correct?

It pisses me off when Europeans say things like: Eh, the brekkafast? Pfffft. It is noting. One cappuccino. Maybe square of dark-a chocolate. Maybe one biscotti I share-a with mi Nona, and even she say, “Giuseppe, you eat-a like hog in-a the shit. The minute you see-a da biscotti, your face become stupid. Not hungry. Stupid like farm animal hearing the bucket. No more biscotti for you, Giuseppe. It is time to make-a da ravioli for da village. One ravioli for entire village.” We are not like-a you Americans, with the pancake, the syrup, the Costco, the cheese from-a the can—it go spssssht, like this: SPSSSHT—onto what? Onto another cheese? You eat-a the brekkafast from the bucket, in the car, on the way to second brekkafast. This is Tuesday for you. The bread is cake. The cake is brekkafast. The brekkafast is soup. The soup is cereal. The cereal is blue. Why. What is this Costco you love? A city? A man? I do not know. You are always going there. You go to the Costco, you come-a back, you are crying, you don’t know why, you have purchased 40 pounds of shrimp. For what. For who.

last Friday I deployed a Facebook ads agent for a startup and over the weekend it optimized itself from $17 phone number leads into $3 leads this is the real GTM engineering agents in the wild and I made a Notion document and a .md skill file so you can do this exact thing too it includes: 1. How to make on brand ads with nano banana 2 2. How to upload these to facebook ads via the API 3. Have an agent manage the ad account based on live data from the account via data pipeline + data warehouse Outcomes we deployed an AI agent for a startup last Friday to manage their facebook ads account day 1: the cost per phone number lead was $17 over the weekend this agent made and published 30 new pieces of ad creative, optimized the ad account, and reduced the cost per action Day 4: the cost per phone number lead was $3 this is a virtual employee that's working full time. like this post and comment "FBmanager" and I'll send you the Notion file and MD file

I can assure you that 51% of Italian youth doesn’t want out. That’s bullshit. The education statistics are bullshit too, based on tests that Italian schools probably don’t obsessively optimize for, unlike schools in some other countries. The one about university degrees is realistic, though. Many people in Italy never graduate from university. Those who decide to study abroad report foreign universities being far easier, and that’s effectively an issue for Italians’ competitiveness in the job market. But yeah, tell me how this conflates with lack of "producing real value". There's no way you can really think Italy is not a top, massive "value producer"

@scinofa @PicklePete75 @jungsungchacn I had to make it easy. Italy ranks second lowest in EU for share of young adults (age 25-34) with university degree(Only 31.6 %). Italy is 4th lowest in all of Europe in basic education. Italy has around 20% youth unemployment, and 51% of Italian youth wants out.

@PicklePete75 @jungsungchacn If Italians put even 10% of the energy they spend gatekeeping food and lecturing others on the “correct” way to eat dishes built around ingredients not even native to Italy into producing real value, maybe over half the country’s youth wouldn’t want to leave.
