Single biggest learning from last few years - Retention (and therefore LTV:CAC) is the single most important thing in consumer - but it’s defined far more by category x market x timing than just executional rigour alone - Get that right and everything else is easier, get it wrong and you’re fighting an uphill battle - It can ofc definitely be changed and improved overtime, but it’s way harder than it sounds, cos retention/LTV is really the sum of all parts - brand, offer, pricing, category, consumer eduction, market sentiment, competition, macro environment etc - Pretty easy to solve for a lower CAC, much much harder to step change retention (and therefore your CAC ceiling) once you’re moving - Honestly this is probably my most practically valuable tweet 🤷🏼♂️
