I had one rule this week: no one plays on Home Court until some old friends and I get some shots up. Who’s got next? 🏀

@BabsIAmHer @MAGACult2 Catholicism and Christianity are almost the same, but different at the same time. Christianity isn't run by devil worshipers. How about you investigate something before you try to spit some knowledge.

For the 50 millionth time MAGA… Stop believing you are smart. That anything you are told by your television set or your phone is correct. I assure you, it is not. That’s why we exist.

@Daniele_Media Manipulating or is he strictly following the letter of the law/rule? A batter until 8 seconds to engage; in batter's box, must show batters stance for ability to hit a baseball AND head up to pitcher. He follows it. It's an advantage. Ump wrong to issue a warning, very true.

Here’s what bothers me about the whole Jose Caballero situation: he’s intentionally manipulating the pitch clock. It’s totally unnecessary. If everyone else can follow the rules without incident, why can’t he? #BlueJays50

@PrimoHoagies you are just the absolute worst business. How do you close every single Colorado restaurant in just three years?

What she actually said is that she couldn't fathom why this case was worthy of their time, since it seems to be exactly the sort of isolated exercise in lower-court error-correction that SCOTUS famously *doesn't* do. This is just a straight-up misrepresentation on your part.

...Jackson wrote that "I cannot fathom" how the seven justices could second-guess the lower court in rejecting the police claims. She accused her colleagues of mere "wordsmithing." Just for the record, it would be useful to review those words...

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has issued another sole stinging dissent. In a 7-2 decision (with liberal justice Elena Kagan joining the majority), the Court upheld the authority of police to make a stop based on the totality of the circumstances...

@ASFleischman Folks, stop talking out of your buttholes. Because Sarah Kirkpatrick will be put under oath in a deposition, and asked about her previous reporting, where she made up bullshit claims about Brett Kavanaugh.

@PaulyWit @BRay4ever @JonathanTurley Facts are facts, the data is the data, and y’all’s blatant racism doesn’t change that. I’m sorry you’re so bitter that a Black female has so much more accomplished so much more than you in her life. Seems awfully soft to blame “DEI” rather than your own personal responsibility.

@PaulyWit @BRay4ever @JonathanTurley And, uh, they don’t issue “diplomas” in college or law school. Maybe do a little research? Admission to law school requires an LSAT score. Harvard Law’s bottom LSAT score range for admissions is 165-170, which is in the 85%+ percentile for all LSAT takers. Think about it

@BRay4ever @JonathanTurley BigLaw firms don’t hire people who aren’t qualified for the job and they are quick to move on if an attorney isn’t performing. You can disagree with Justice Jackson’s judicial opinions all you want but to smear her as unqualified for the job is just moronic. And racist, obviously

@BRay4ever @JonathanTurley Compare her academic and career credentials to any other sitting Justice. Then try to make a rational argument that she lacked merit. Give me a fucking break: Harvard undergrad, Harvard Law, District/Appeals/SCOTUS clerkships, succeeded in BigLaw.

Investigative journalism existing amid an infinite scroll of takes on this platform has made people think that reporting is basically a karaoke machine. But repeatedly finding information that people with money don't want the public to know can require months and months of work
K MAC@woodsidewasp

@PabloTorre Why didn't you get this out ASAP if it was such an important story? Why wait until it would get the most buzz right before the playoffs start? Wanting views and clicks does not make it right sitting on a story until it's the best time to publish for you.

@PabloTorre The true legwork is on the front end; once you identify a list of possible lawsuits that may contain pertinent information, the rest is just PACER or the state/local online database and at worst sending someone down to a courthouse to retrieve public documents. Is this right?

@PabloTorre I’m a fan of PTFO and hope y’all keep up the good work. I do feel like you at times overhype the significance of discovering documents that are in the public record (mostly civil lawsuits) and the resources/time needed for that piece of the investigation.

@Imaginely2 @TimothyDSnyder Sometimes, the proverbial first draft of history is wrong, and needs rewriting. Many peaceful protesters ended up in prison. One might think the "democracy" people would have something to say about that.

We are seven months away from the most consequential midterm election in the history of the United States. Meanwhile, we are fighting a war. These are the structural conditions for a coup attempt in which a president tries to nullify elections and take permanent power as a dictator. If we see this, we can stop it, overcome the movement that brought us to this point, and make a turn towards something better. snyder.substack.com/p/the-next-cou…
