Queensland is a state like no other. It's the least urbanised. One of the least diverse. Lower levels of Uni degree attainment versus NSW and Vic. Under 40 year olds vote in greater numbers for the LNP than anywhere else in the country. Interstate migration will not be helping Labor. Hence, it will always be more prone to swing away from Labor, if that party is struggling. On the ABC, in March, we mentioned QLD would be the first to fall. Labor also has a few long-term challenges in this state. It's not taking in as many skilled migrants v NSW and Vic. It's losing the urban professional vote to the Greens in Brisbane, while losing the less educated, less diverse areas to the LNP. The preferred Premier rankings are telling. Graph: Fin Review.
