Look, not even we thought we’d have #BinBen trending Number One in Australia for 24 hours, witches.
It’s fucking fantastic.
And while these Twitter trends don’t matter and don’t cause much change in and of themselves, they’re a good barometer of what people are noticing and caring about.
Which should strike some very real fear into quite a lot of people at @2GB873 and @BenFordhamLive, because Ben’s behaviour this week has made a shitload of people VERY VERY ANGRY and VERY VERY DETERMINED to get some retribution happening.
We’ve had a few responses from advertisers today, which we’ll share with you tomorrow as we’re too exhausted by how overwhelming our mentions have been today to do more posting now.
But please be aware we appreciate every single like, re-tweet, quote-tweet, reply, unique tweet and hashtag posted by you, because making a great big fucking noise is what gets traction with advertisers and with 2GB themselves.
It matters.
So please keep it going.
We’ve had more than 9,000 #BinBen hashtag responses so far, so let’s see if we can get it to 10,000 tonight.
And let’s see if all of those 9,000 or 10,000 witches who’ve tweeted the hashtag will get into our Campaign Data lists tomorrow via mfw.org.au, to send a witchy email or DM to another advertiser who’s funding Ben Fordham’s hate. (And if you’re still not sure how to participate in the campaign, let us know in a reply or DM us, and we’ll be happy to help you out.)
Let’s go, witches.
And let’s all #BinBen.

@9NewsQueensland @OLathouris_9 The opposition need to deck off and shut up. Stop criticising everything for political gain and instead offer up solutions or at least suggestions to help.
You won’t get elected for criticising others…
English

The State Government has spruiked its plan to get troubled youth off the streets through early intervention.
The Opposition says it's not enough, following a week of theft and break-ins across the South East.

@RizviAbul @BenFordhamLive just ring the retailer and tell them to do a final read on the property as you are moving. They will send a final bill.
Make sure you turn the gas off at the tap beside the meter.

@BenFordhamLive We don’t use gas anymore but can’t get rid of the connection without a big cost. Why pay for a gas connection that you won’t use?

Does this racist trope reflect your values @FinancialReview? With media freedom comes responsibility and this is unacceptable. It highlights the deeply racist beliefs of Advance Australia & should never be accepted for publication. #auspol

@KosSamaras @GSumm1 The LNP in Brisbane have realised it is better to remain silent on anything that has a risk of costing them votes.
Brisbane City council and the Lord Mayor (LNP) support The Voice but have remained pretty much silent on the issue so they don’t lose votes to One Nation!!!
English

@GSumm1 Indeed but there is a Greens problem in Brisbane proper for Labor. Flip side, with a primary vote that low, I would not say SEQ is solid for Labor like the past election
English

Queensland is a state like no other.
It's the least urbanised.
One of the least diverse.
Lower levels of Uni degree attainment versus NSW and Vic.
Under 40 year olds vote in greater numbers for the LNP than anywhere else in the country.
Interstate migration will not be helping Labor.
Hence, it will always be more prone to swing away from Labor, if that party is struggling.
On the ABC, in March, we mentioned QLD would be the first to fall.
Labor also has a few long-term challenges in this state. It's not taking in as many skilled migrants v NSW and Vic. It's losing the urban professional vote to the Greens in Brisbane, while losing the less educated, less diverse areas to the LNP.
The preferred Premier rankings are telling.
