When somebody says, 'I cannot emphasize this enough,' my first thought is: 'Don't feel bad. With a little practice, you too can be a great emphasizer.'

@scrollpastthis Many criminals realized that if they just commit their crimes in the name of “social justice,” they can avoid going to prison in the first place.
And if they do go, their friends are the judges.

You don't see people breaking their friends out of jail and floating down a river in barrels anymore

You don't see broke people wearing barrels with suspenders anymore

@nalletto @jaromjordan Yep. Ahmed is too slow, and I'm increasingly convinced Keita doesn't have opposable thumbs.
English

@scrollpastthis @jaromjordan Somebody needs to learn how to box out during halftime
My first and second choices would be Keita and Ahmed. Let Boskovic participate in the remedial training as well.

@JAEbberts I think I'm more curious than anything. I wonder what it will be like. Unlike anything else in life, we don't have someone who can say, "I've been through this. Here's what to expect."
We have a Temple Prep course; there's no "Stepping Through the Actual Veil" course.
English

@scrollpastthis If you're 12 and don't understand half of the context of what's being said, sure
English

@nalletto @PioneerPaperTrl Yes. Exactly right! It's important to understand what we covenant to do. But it's also important to understand that our covenants don't outline everything that we should do!
English

@scrollpastthis @PioneerPaperTrl These are the same people who said “oh now we can minister with just a text message.” if it’s not specified, they don’t believe it’s required.

@moroni_memer some people just liked the cliqueishness of high school and haven't quite moved on from it

For my Senior Capstone course in undergrad, I wrote a paper that ended up being about 45 pages (I think). Though I did tons of research for it for months, the majority of the writing was done in a hectic 48-hour period.
Somehow got an A. 🤷♂️

Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.
English

@MaxNordau He says they weren't on the verge of getting a nuclear weapon, but also that they were just a few months away.
Maybe I'm taking crazy pills but a few months away feels pretty close! Way too close for comfort.
English

@ThirdNWrongDill @_consistent_man @Latterdaytruth Maybe not, but as a currently-serving Ward Executive Secretary, the number of times it's just me and Bishop at the building is enough that I don't think it'd be appropriate to have a sister doing that.
English

@scrollpastthis @_consistent_man @Latterdaytruth That's not the reason they need to be make. I don't think there's a doctrinal reason either but it's what is delegated at the moment

@scrollpastthis @BradWitbeck That’s not how the scale works, Adam 😆
English

@scrollpastthis @BradWitbeck On the good, better, best scale, Brad’s suggestion was best, this may still be “better”.
English

@tysenbringhurst Aaaand we're back to this bad-faith goofiness again. I think we're done here.
Have a nice day. ✌️
English

@scrollpastthis Yes. I get it. You want to neglect the poor and needy and those that mourn and need comfort because somehow the baptismal covenant has this loophole that doesn’t require anyone to do so.
English

“Sorry I won’t help you, I haven’t made any covenant with my Heavenly Father to help you”
Adam@scrollpastthis
@tysenbringhurst @esp3rtamente Yes. We should do better than that, of course, but that's not part of the covenant.
