Extraordinary that despite Bridget McKenzie being caught lying about flight upgrades & embarrassingly revealing at least 16 undeclared upgrades as recently as August this year that media inc the ABC still refuses to ask Peter Dutton or David Littleproud if McKenzie should resign

There really should be mandated a minimum standard of behaviour in politics. This fails the test and in many ways is a cringeworthy attempt to detract from the lack of any representation Babet gives to his constituents.

Matt Canavan says we have "massive inflation" (which sails through without comment .. PK!) No Matt, we have an inflation rate of 2.8%, much less than when your mob were pulling the levers (6.6%) #QandA

That was a great use of three minutes of my time! I lodged a complaint to Ralph's workplace, the Senate of Australia - you can too! And now I'm lodging one with the NSW Anti Discrimination Commission & I think Ralphie's bro should tell us if the fam business shares his views!

Those who are impacted by Senator Babet's words here might like to make a complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission. You don't have to put up with this. Australia is not America. A fact that Babet may have forgotten. humanrights.gov.au/complaints

Man, knowing that I was able to make a Japanese director happy for sharing a rare film (Call Girl 1982) he hasn’t seen since the theater and never got around to getting the VHS definitely made my week.

In Iran, a student harassed by her university’s morality police over her “improper” hijab didn’t back down. She turned her body into a protest, stripping to her underwear and marching through campus—defying a regime that constantly controls women’s bodies. Her act is a powerful reminder of Iranian women’s fight for freedom. Yes we use our bodies like weapons to fight back a regime that kills women for showing their hair. This happened at Tehran’s Science and Research University She has since been arrested by the authorities. Be her voice. #WomanLifeFreedom

Another amazing Johnnie To interview dropped, this time from the BBC. Exceptionally frank and outspoken as usual, going into detail his own creative block, the state of the industry, and the political situation in Hong Kong. Thread of highlights (when I get to it) 🧵

This is one of the hardest but also one of the most important warnings from the history of Auschwitz coming for us today. Perpetrators were in fact people who accepted and followed an ideology that made them believe that they were better than others, an ideology that rationalized and promoted hatred & evil. This became part of their everyday lives and their environment. They were not monsters. They were people: fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters. They had their family joys and problems, their favorite desserts or songs, hobbies or fears. They were people like us. But they also perpetrated horrible things, monstrous things on behalf of the ideology they believed in. Dehumanization of all "others" was a tool that helped them achieve their goal. The perpetrators thought of themselves as moral people. And this is the scary part of this history. We cannot dehumanize them, as their story and choices are our human warning.
