@PetreRaleigh This seems to be true across art forms and media. I've noticed something similar with books: way fewer seem to be reading at all, and a tiny number are lit people, but that small group is *very* well read.

Always reluctant to do a generational weigh-in but my view tends to be 1) there are more young people with serious movie knowledge now than there have ever been 2) young people who don't specifically care about movies know fewer of them than they ever have

@seanajune @NoThanksFacts Legalizing paid rape is not radical, it’s a liberal talking point. Radical is providing everyone with a comfortable shelter, food, water and medical care. It’s not even remotely the same. Have you read many interviews with sex workers in places where sex work is legal?

We're all dealing in fantasies here. The reality is, sex workers will work in precarious circumstances for the foreseeable future.

@rosewithfawns I just don't think these kinds of things will end sex work altogether, and I think attempts to "abolish" it generally just result in the work becoming more marginal and dangerous and the lives of workers more precarious.

(not a radfem but...) marxists/socialist feminists have been arguing for NUMEROUS different solutions which have historically shown to help workers within the trade whilst also decreasing the trade ('peking prostitutes reform themselves').
