Big news: Universal Proof Market is live on mainnet. The system is designed to support heterogeneous proof systems and hardware profiles. @zksync is the first network going live on the proof market. Huge milestone not only for Fermah, but for ZKsync in it's big decentralization vision of building every stack right. We are building it right and are increasing load gradually, to ensure top liveness for proof requesters and high utilization rate for compute providers : - More zk networks submitting proof requests - More compute providers joining supply This is the first production step toward that model. Incredibly proud of the world-class team at Fermah!

As a side note, since it seems like the most obvious place this goes wrong is with the outstanding orders < bond calc - malicious front ends, RPCs shitting the bed etc - I wonder have you guys thought about some sort of bonded data service for this? Maybe it’s stupid because it’s just moving wrong way on capital efficiency spectrum, but potentially cool if I could buy a form of bridge insurance / economically secured data from the data / FE provider as well?

Agreed was thinking about the same scenario. You could probably do it based on challenge order if the resolution oracle also returned the calc for how much of the corresponding order should be covered by the bond - so calculates the capital in flight at time of order - and only pays out that much. Seems obviously worse though since the oracle has to determine merkle order anyways + it's nice to have the oracle simplicity of just matching merkle roots

Just shipped the Across Prime paper, a new design for a capital efficient trustless fast bridge authored with @danrobinson, @mrice32, and the @AcrossProtocol team. Across Prime aims to deliver the near instant speed of intent based bridges but with greater capital efficiency. 🧵

@hal2001 @danrobinson @mrice32 @AcrossProtocol @paradigm This means that it does not matter the order in which challenges are levied right? Challenge processing order is based only on the position in which the corresponding unfilled intent for each challenge falls in the merkle chain?

The biggest UX upgrade is finally coming to Ethereum in 2 weeks. For more than a year, we fought for EIP-7702 in pursuit of building some only possible with it. It’s about time that EOAs learn some cool new tricks. otim(.)com/manifesto

This is our 2024 wrapped. 2024 was a big year for Hack VC. Our mission is to back hackers at the earliest stages that are building the future of the internet. In this recap, we highlight some of the bets we made in that pursuit, and the work we’ve done to cultivate a community through events, research, open-source code contributions, and more. 🧵

1/ ETH is underperforming BTC and SOL big time this cycle. The reason? Many think that it’s Ethereum’s choice to go modular. Was this a strategic misstep? We pulled a bunch of data and have some answers. 👇
