We who led the conservative effort to redraw our Congressional maps are devastated about yesterday's vote. Myself, Sen. Gaskill and the other 17 senators who voted yes recognize the consequences of what it will mean to have socialists control Congress. Yesterday, we failed our conservative voters, our colleagues in the Indiana House, our Indiana Congressional Delegation and the President who won our state by 19 points.  Today I submitted my resignation as Assistant Majority Floor Leader in charge of Communications to Senate President Pro Tempore Rod Bray, effective immediately. Our Caucus will have rebuilding to do to repair communication and trust with voters, and I will focus on that effort outside of Senate Leadership.

I am very disappointed that a small group of misguided State Senators have partnered with Democrats to reject this opportunity to protect Hoosiers with fair maps and to reject the leadership of President Trump. Ultimately, decisions like this carry political consequences. I will be working with the President to challenge these people who do not represent the best interests of Hoosiers.

Although the appointees to ACIP have scientific credentials, many do not have significant experience studying microbiology, epidemiology or immunology. In particular, some lack experience studying new technologies such as mRNA vaccines, and may even have a preconceived bias against them. Robust and transparent scientific discussion is important, so long as it is rooted in evidence and understanding. Wednesday's meeting should not proceed with a relatively small panel, and no CDC Director in place to approve the panel's recommendations. The meeting should be delayed until the panel is fully staffed with more robust and balanced representation—as required by law—including those with more direct relevant expertise. Otherwise, ACIP’s recommendations could be viewed with skepticism, which will work against the success of this Administration's efforts.

To TikTok users: under TikTok’s current business model, your personal data can be compromised and TikTok can be used to spread Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda in service of our enemies and against our allies. TikTok as it exists today is a national security nightmare for the United States.  I support the legislation requiring new ownership for TikTok that is not connected to the CCP.  I know the app is popular, but the business model allows the CCP to sit on the parent company’s board.  When the Communist Party speaks, everyone who does business with them follows their demands.  @SenTomCotton and @SenatorRicketts are right to make sure that the terms of the statute requiring qualified divestiture are followed and any attempt to purchase TikTok by an American owner also must comply with statutory requirements.  I share President @realDonaldTrump’s goal of keeping the app available to Americans who enjoy the content, but our national security interests have to be met before that can be achieved. ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, has been arrogant regarding the requirement to sell.  If TikTok goes dark permanently, it’s because ByteDance refused to meet America’s legitimate national security concerns. They will have no one to blame but themselves.

@AmericanAir @4EverEboy You should point out the @delta lies to its customers it calls elite Medallions and says they give away upgrades, when in fact they prefer to sell them for a few dollars instead of rewarding loyalty. But true, your airline agreed to give the pilots this perk.

@4EverEboy This is a contractual provision in our new pilot agreement and is limited to upgrades within 24 hours of departure. Our standard processes for clearing upgrades prior to 24-hours before departure, including for our AAdvantage members, remain in place.
