@BloggingWasJP @kirkkorner The correct course of action would have been to write a note to the judge , 1 your not recognised as an expert by the court and 2 your breaching your juries oath to “try the case and give a true verdict according to the evidence”.

@kirkkorner Jurors will often have expert knowledge which COULD be useful in evaluating evidence. Should they share that with other jurors? As a JP a defendant once made a statement that with MY expert knowledge was a blatant lie. I shared that with my colleagues.

Attended a certain Mags Court this week. Despite Bar pass, random search. Had to empty pockets, show lap top screen? show all parts of wallet, inside red bag, ooen wig tin, undo bands wallet, all sections of gents pochet. Search went on for ages. Really?

My guess: in 5 years' time the data will show that, contrary to the hopes of the LC and others, s28 trials will show more acquittals than others because jurors don't like not being able to watch witnesses giving evidence 'live'. S28 cases feel scripted: juries don't like that
